I am confused why not to kill the ogre. Every time I do no knight strat the ogre kills the runner. To make it even more stupid the knight takes two sniper shots.
If someone could just please tell me the purpose of no knight over intended knight strat I would appreciate it.
Edit 1 After a day of this post I have come to the conclusion that the strat should be used by runners choice because it affects him the most
Just saying challenge mode will probably have to be done legit as well

No knight is for people who can not do the normal strategy. In my experience every group that I have dome no knights with takes about 45 minutes plus since someone always -blam!-s up. The groups I'm in that we kill the Knights takes 5-20 minutes. If standing on a platform and shooting a red bar knight in the head two times who stands still for a few seconds is too difficult, then those players should probably not be doing the hard raid.

It's garbage.

1 ReplyEdited by justbrian64: 12/7/2015 10:29:33 AMI feel you on this issue man. Killing the knights is so simple. The no knight strategy sucks most because of The unpredictable ogres,if the ogres tried to get as close to you as possible then id be all for the no knight. But alas once your raid team lays down the damage on Oryx and you turn to look at the ogres then they usually scatter where one is all the way in the back while the other can be right in front. Then if the timing is off you're gonna end up losing a teammate cause one person was ToO quick while the last unlucky bastard had to run all the way to the farthest corners of the room and back. And I know we can do a count down but unfortunately because of the no knight strat if you take too long then the knights will walk their happy asses on over to your bomb and detonate it. Don't get me wrong it's very easily possible to do this as long as everybody does their job properly but there's way too much stuff left to chance that makes me hate the no knight strat. On the other hand Killing knights is so damn easy if everybody is competent enough to do their job that killing Oryx won't take more than 2 tries. First off killing ogres is simple when there's 4 people shooting the ogres to kingdom come together and they should never have trouble with killing their knights. And the 3rd person on the plate that is almost always left alone should probably your best player imo should be able to handle his own ogre with the help of other 2 support players and kill his knight. And if he's good enough kill the last knight after the other 2 support players immeadiately lay waste to the last ogre if not then one player should be able take out the last knight before or even during Oryx dps. After that, since all the knights are dead your team can just wait a few seconds and kill adds and in unison you will detonate all bombs easily and easily repeat the process until all is done. Who knows if that's too complicated for some people but it's really easy to pull off as long as people are actually COMPETENT I forgot to mention above that the no knight should be used only if the players you have in your team are like below 310 light. Granted even if you are below 310 you can still snipe out an ogre no problem but yeah....uuhhhh.....no knight is for the weak

To make those players who do Normal strategy feel better about themselves.

I tried hard for the firs time this weekend and they explained the strat. I played with ransomed and every time the teams failed I asked if we could try the intended way and I got kicked. Idk why but trying it the easy way seemed harder to do

Edited by Wit: 12/8/2015 6:18:39 AMUmmmm..... No knights?
-
No knight is harder. Who ever thought leaving 4 ogres alive along with every single add was a good idea. Everybody just hopes the ogres don't even look at them and that the runner is going to go untouched. Just kill the ogres and kill ur own Knights. Stagger Oryx, kill adds, get bombs, rinse and repeat.
-
I'll do both but I always have more problems with groups doing no knight because someone always dies from ogres or adds. It's not hard to kill a red bar knight I don't see what the big deal is.
-
7 RepliesIn our team, it's not the runner dying. It's us. You know that feeling when an ogre starts gazing at you and you have nowhere to run? Multiply that with two sometimes.
-
I don't do no knights but my clan knows how. . It's easy, but not fun and beside all of that challenge mode might stop the no knights strat..
-
It just lets you know not to join that group
-
2 RepliesIf your runner is getting killed by ogres than your runner is too slow or too inexperienced. Make sure they aren't stopping or hesitating on the platforms on the way up. When you run with a solid runner you wont ever hear him go down by ogres and you'll almost forget he's there. Good luck.

It's an easier way of pulling lower light people through since they don't have to get shot at as much. Not only do you not get the knights, you also don't get the adds. Especially the fecking acolytes and the eyes that they drop everywhere.
-
I would say it's to carry lower levels through. Survivability is key in hard raid. If all they have to do is sit on a plate and jump to death singer platform they likely will survive. I would rather just kill everything, but most people only know no knight start.
-
After 20 completions and 3:15 on all three characters it's the only strategy I know
-
It's for people that can't snipe
-
the point is so you dont have to worry about knights cause some people are just so incompetant
-
It is to beat the raid
-
Guardians that have a low light level, say 306-308 can run this strategy and avoid the knights. A Titan I know with her team had an average of 309, lowest being 307 and they completed it. Once you have a reasonable light, you can do it normally.

2 RepliesTechnically, no knight is legit. It works and not a exploit in anyway but it stops the Knights from spawning! Do you know how many times those shithead take them anyways? Anyways, I usually am runner in my group. Having good armor and decent speed stops me from getting hit anyways.
-
7 RepliesI cant wait for challenge mode hopefully they force the legit strat.
-
2 RepliesWhat is the purpose of knight strat?
-
Its easier for lower light level teams. If you have mostly 310s, it's wasting your time
-
3 RepliesIt's the easy way out. It's not easier than the way they intended for us to do the fight.
-
Its just another way to do it. Some find it easier.
-
So we can finish the raid so much faster
