Plan C. Its range is so good with hammer forged and field choke!

  • You need high stability on it to keep the damage nodes together for as long as possible; I have been experimenting with it this week and stability is the way to go for sure.

  • It is already easy to control the recoil. You don't need stability because it has such a good recoil stay. Specing for stability is wasteful

  • It is not about recoil, it is about projectile spread; since the last fusion nerf they increased the damage node spread over distance, which is why you don't see players getting zapped across the map anymore. Stability is indeed not wasteful on a fusion because it operates differently on fusion rifles compared to other guns in the game; indeed, the problem may get worse as they have already made it clear that firing from the hip will result in a looser grouping of damage nodes as of the next update. So no, it isn't wasteful at all, it is necessary.

Range is the perk that effects spread. Stability reduces recoil on consecutive shots. Range effects spread and projectile travel time on fusion rifles. Also, they are only changing the recoil in the next update, they aren't changing the accuracy/spread.

  • I hate to break it to you like this, but you are totally wrong: it is stability that dictates the spread of damage nodes on a fusion rifle, whilst range shows when damage will drop off and finally fizzle from each individual node. That includes the first shot fired, not just follow-ups. Simple experimentation by firing at the cosmodrome wall with different settings on your fusion rifles would show you what I say is true.

I have tested it and stability only effects the recoil. Range effects the accuracy of the fusion coils and travel time. The only reason you would be getting a better spread with stability is because you are not controlling the recoil. In my tests the spread is always better with max range we n controlling the recoil In fact, range effects accuracy on all guns.
