In high school, a friend put a gun up to his head, fired a blank and killed himself.
The next year my girlfriends exboyfriend blew his face off...but he lived. We rolled him on his face so he didn't drown.
Then i was at a party, somebody started shooting so I ran and I missed my ride. The car I rode in carried the shooting victim to the ER but he bled out on my friends lap.
And this was 25 years ago or so. Idk how kids today survive.

A blank is just a bullet shell with powder and a firing cap. It can off and just sound like an actual round without the round. But little fragments from the shell van still fly down the barrel with enough force to kill. [spoiler]Look up how the guy in "The Crow" died.[/spoiler]

That was just top 3 bro. I could easily rattle at least a dozen other freakish incidents... We lived in a "rich kids" neighborhood. The palm trees around here are haunted by drunken teens. Lots of heroin/coke overdoses. Speed happened a little later...(it was a poor man's drug) I don't know why its not believable...shit man read your local paper on a Saturday morning. Kids still die here every day. This ain't even the ghetto...
