After running the hard mode Warpriest challenge with LFG groups on both of my characters, I can say that it's no cakewalk for the average player. Both times it took roughly an hour and multiple tries, even with most of the team being 310-313, because not everybody has a set group that can blow through everything.
If you have a dedicated raid group or clan, good for you. It must be nice to play with the same group and just steamroll the raid multiple times a week. Most of us rely on LFG, and results are a mixed bag. The challenge mode will be laughably easy for an established raid team. It'll be tough for an average team.
No matter how easy it is it comes down to being the best loot drop in the game and more players will be able to benefit from them than just the mega hardcores who have pretty much everything they need already. It got my hunter from 309 to 311, and my titan from 308 to 309. I got to pick up two 320 Terminus machine guns (my previous highest heavy was a 308 Terminus) and infuse my Sleeper up to 314 with my other heavy drops, not to mention 320 artifacts for both characters and leftover 310's that I can stash for whenever I get around to making a Warlock. I'm pretty pumped about that. I'm an average player, good but not superman, and I only have so much time in the week to play and gear up. Challenge mode has been a godsend.

I would suggest for people who don't have a regular group but run LfG every week, take 5 minutes to add everyone who makes a good run with you as a friend and then message them first when you try the next raid. Eventually you find a core group who can get together each week at approximately the same time and blow through the content. Just a thought since I continually see people complain about not being able to find a consistent group.

Used lfg. Did it first try. 15 mins done ...if you can't recognize a bad grp it's your fault

You don't know what you're getting until you get in there and try a few runs. And if I bailed on every group that struggled early I'd be spending all my time looking for new groups over and over instead of just trying a couple more times and getting it done. Sometimes I get lucky with a group like you did and sometimes I don't.

Yea true...

The first group I joined from LFG completed the entire raid, incl. the "challenge mode" in a little over an hour. It's not hard at all. That being said, it is also the first "challenge mode" and it's on a boss that's almost NOT a boss. Let's wait and see what is offered for Golgoroth, Daughters, and Oryx before passing judgement on how easy or hard it is.

I doubt there will be one for Daughters. We know there are three total (the missing grimoire cards) and Bungie already mentioned Golgoroth in a previous weekly update. So that leaves him and Oryx. Besides the sisters are not really a boss, in fact Warpriest is way more of a boss than they are. I'm going to guess that Golgoroth will be hardest because it'll force players to use all the orbs instead of just one, and hardly any groups use that strat. I know I never have. Next week will be interesting for sure. Oryx is probably something like having a different relic runner each phase, which will still be easier than Golgoroth I think.

Good point on the three missing grimoire. I didn't know that.
