Taken King promotional code used
Has anyone ever experienced buying a new game and the promotional code inside already used? I just bought a PS4 and Destiny the Taken King from Game Stop, BRAND NEW! I do all the updates, and when it comes time to put in the promotional code so i can unlock the new content, i get an error saying the code had already been used. Contacted Sony, they won't help. Called Game Stop and since i already opened the game, it is non returnable. I just paid $60 for a game i technically cannot use, unless i want to pay an extra $40. Add that to all of the expansion packs i already purchased on the PS3...Looking at almost $200+ for a game that's only been out for a year.
Anyone else experience this? How did you resolve it? Or were you not able to?

5 RepliesIf GameStop won't allow a refund, see if they'll do an exchange for another copy of TTK. Sounds like you got the Legendary version (physical). Not sure how a new code could be used; it's possible someone was trying to figure out the code generation algorithm and managed to enter a code that matched yours. Seems unlikely though. How GameStop handles codes is unknown to me, but it should count as a defective product. Hopefully it has been under 30 since you made your purchase, as their policy states that opened purchases can be exchanged for up to 30 days after purchase.
