This does not match up with what people like the OP seem to have heard. This is not Luke Smith criticising the community for having "lofty" expectations. It seems to me that he is praising the community for having such high expectations, and saying that those expectations drive him and his team to expand their vision of what the content should be. That those "lofty" expectations are a positive driving force.
Honestly, don't get angry until you have listened with your ears open. Listen to what he actually says, not what people have posted that he said. Read along with my quote if you like. It's around the 5min 30 sec point that this conversation occurs.
I can only imagine that the OP is what my mother would call "cloth eared". Try LISTENING mate.

Main problem is, that "lofty" expectations what they were advertised at 2013 E3. They cut content, -blam!- Game story, sell a shitty beta and now they are saying our expectations lofty. sure, why not. so many idiots ready to throw money to screen anyway, right?

Seriously. HOW LONG IS THIS GOING TO BE A THING?! Games change during development all the time. We now know thanks for Kotaku that Destiny went through huge changes at the last moment. But honestly, who gives a -blam!-. How long are the cut content conspiracy theorists going to keep banging on about it? It's getting REALLY REALLY old.

Well said! Regardless of what any Bungie person will ever say or not say, there will always be someone to call them names. I wish people would look into the mirror more often.

I'm not sure how long you've been a part of the community. But as someone who's been forced to go and listen to videos himself and read articles himself just to see how badly OP misquoted or misinterpreted a particular quote since HoW, trust me when I say that this kind of thing happens all the time whenever someone from Bungie says something about Destiny. Hell, it doesn't even have to be anyone from Bungie or even about Destiny and people from this community will tie it to them. Believe me, it isn't worth the headaches of trying to figure out why and how people misinterpret things so fully
