I absolutely find it hysterical when people call consumers who paid upwards of $120 for a game "entitled" because they want to play the game they paid for as it was advertised. I agree the community can be a little unrealistic and demanding, but people need to wake up and see what the Hells going on. No one paid the full price of a standard AAA title, $60, to be sold $20 worth of content and the other 40 to be chopped up and sold separately as an expansion. Listen to any one of the developers interviews when they talk about timelines of content. Luke Smith openly discussed when the dreadnought was created and taken out of the original version of destiny. Yes I know, things change as well as schedules, but if you look at the game, how the story is now, all the little references to things like prison of elders in vanilla destiny when house of wolves was nowhere close to being out, there are these little clues everywhere that tell you this game was chopped up more than a chef salad and the original story, or lack there of at the very least is proof of that. If this game was sold as a whole, when it was completely finished, not sold to us in parts and given the time it was needed to fully flush out all of its systems, this literally would've been the guest best game any of us would've probably played in our lives. But big money got to it, contracts demand sequels and additional revenue streams, and the fact is creativity is not an endless resource that can easily be tapped.

  • If it was chopped up & sold separately, how do you explain all the bugs & glitches in CE?

  • I don't know why you would ask a consumer about bugs and glitches in programming and unless you've done any game design whatsoever I wouldn't recommend you speculate on it either. I'm not a programmer nor do I have access to the games engine. According to the article written by Kotaku the game engine is apparently very bad, and hard to write for. If you're interested honestly just google destiny kotaku articles. Still not sure why you would ask about bugs and glitches in reference to a comment mentioning about how the game content was moved around, but this is a bungie forum after all.

  • Sorry for the confusion. The point I was making is that the CE raid was full of bugs & glitches that were unlike the VOG glitches (bosses move away from aoe damage) & kings fall, which has virtually no bugs. The CE glitches & bugs seem like the result of a rush job. If all of the content was pre-made then sold later, why would one raid be so much worse from a design standpoint than the others? Btw, kotaku is a 3rd party publication. You can believe them if you want, but their articles aren't a credible source for a Destiny-related argument.

  • The raids had different lead designers. From what I understand Crota's end was not done by the same lead designer/team as Kings fall. But a glitch is a glitch, it's not a consistent pattern of someone's programming. Everyone works out of the same game engine, things are discovered found and fixed as time goes by. And just so I can be a little more clear, just because something was taken out of the original game doesn't mean it wasn't continued to be worked and improved upon before it was finally released. Also, Kings fall has its fair share of glitches. The totems brand not transferring properly, platforms disappearing or reappearing in incorrect order at sisters or oryx... going in a portal just to go back out the way you came. It's all the same game engine and glitches are everywhere. Thanks by the way for making this a civil conversation versus a lot of other comments around here. Most people on these forums, whether I agree or disagree just threw around insults and although we may view things differently we both spoke to each other with respect so... Props.

  • You too bro. I took debate for 4 years, so insults are automatically out the window for me. When people insult each other it derails the argument they're trying to make. I wish more people understood that Idk how the design teams work, so I can't say what teams did what, but if they made 3 raids at the same time, you wouldn't expect the one released later to have more bugs than the 1st one. Also all those things you mentioned about kings fall aren't bugs. Alot of that stuff is designed to happen when people make mistakes. It can also happen when someone's Internet connection is bad

  • The raids were created by different teams, this much is a fact. Crota's End was not spear headed by Luke Smith. King's Fall was. Creation, Design and final implementation are three different things. The game was laid out and given an outline, and people started working. Things changed, got pushed back and assigned to different teams as they do. Creating a game like anything cannot all be done at the same time even if nothing did change. If the game was originally supposed to of been released with three raids instead of one, they could not of done them at the same time without multiple groups. Even then, you have several different play testers and resources that again are not infinite. Even work on Destiny 2 right now has been outsourced to another company. I'm sure its on google somewhere. Regarding glitches.. yes, plates and brands disappearing is a mechanic when people make mistakes, but it is a glitch when everything is done correctly. In the cases I've mentioned, no mistakes were made. In the case of platforms, everyone was on, in order, and running fine until 'something' changed other than what was in the gamers control. In the case of the brand on totems, it was passed correctly while two people were on the plate, and then disappeared randomly, with knights spawning out of order to boot. It is actually a common issue and am surprised you have never heard anyone mention it, or am surprised that you dismissed their statements so easily assuming they messed up, what ever the case is. That's the thing about glitches, no one expects them. That's why they get through in the first place. When you're working with different mechanics even in the same engine, bugs will exist regardless. Destiny is a fantastically complicated game, These things are bound to happen. In the end all of this is simply speculation, all we can do is side with what we personally believe is more logical.

That's true. I have a little bit of experience in coding, so I can appreciate how complicated making a game like destiny can be. To me, it doesn't logically make sense to say they made the game & chopped it up. My main reasons for thinking that are the dlcs themselves. TDB had a completely unrelated story to vanilla, & HOW was the same way. Not to mention Peter dinklage didn't have a single line in either one. Then TTK had a story line that built off of one of those unrelated story lines. Every time I played a new dlc, it seemed like they were coming up with content as they went along. But like you said, it's just an opinion.

  • Would you care to elaborate? Probably not… You'll probably just throw round some cheap insults but I'm interested to hear what you would say I lied about.

  • I love the whole "just because it's in the trailers doesn't mean it's in the game". I swear Bungie is just doing it because it works at this point, every trailer has content you can't have. I was really hyped for firelord. What a joke.
