Let's think back to TDB, shall we? Bungie gave us a smaller, yet still enjoyable, raid to go along with a small scale expansion.
The community responded with something along the lines of, "wtf bugnie, dis rade sux".
Then came HoW. Bungie plainly and openly admitted that they were humbled by the community's reception, and we're going to put off the next raid until they could build one of higher quality.
The community, predictably, started screaming, "omg wares r rayd bugbie? FU!!!".
Now, with the latest expansion, we've been given heaps of new content and an excellent raid. On top of that, we have good reasons to believe the next that new content coming in the near future will be free. The community should at last be somewhat grateful, right?
Nope. They're true to form, demanding that Bungie give them all the things they feel entitled to. It's truly pathetic. Bungie owes us nothing.

You're absolutely right, Bungie owes us nothing and there is no reason for all the entitled crap spewing these forums. That being said, they are losing players fast. FAST. And they need to do something. They are competing for playing time and frankly, they are losing that battle with me and pretty much everyone I know. I agree that they owe me nothing, I've had a great run with Destiny since the Beta. Played it a ton, and I'm really sad to have lost my drive to play this game. There is absolutely nothing wrong with wishing they would do something to pull me back in.

"Heaps of new content".....you're joking right? After you get through the story (which it seems they gave up on half way through) you "unlock the taken war" which 90% of was essentially a masked year 1 content grind. They said they knew they spread the content in year 1 too thin so what did they learn? Nothing, they spread year 2 even thinner. They said they were implementing a "smart" loot system which was 100% a lie. They said they wanted to reduce the grind and respect players time more and they made the grind worse. They said the Dreadnaught was the largest patrol yet, which was also a complete lie. Are you really defending a company of who straight up lied about a number of things to sell more copies? This has nothing to do with entitlement and more to do with holding a company accountable for it's BS lies and BS business practices.

Agreed, in general, these forums are usually a bunch of cry babies. But, this dude has a point. $500 million dollar game and the "yet still enjoyable" raid you speak of had cheeses and cheats all over the place. I repeat, $500 million. I like most thought this new expansion was awesome, had a blast with it! Thought, wow, their coming around. But then realized, all the old content... it's gone. This game is the most advertised game to date and they have such minimal content then tell us, the consumers, that we have lofty expectations. Coming from the same mouth that uttered that year one players just need to buy the whole game again or we can't get the special edition. They're not showing loyalty towards their diehards. I still play, but really only trials. I've moved on to the other sets of games, like Fallout and Star Wars. I have so much hope for this game but it's a struggle right now to play it.

Let's see here no game designers get put on a 500million dollar budget and puts everything in the base game hints cut content. If you had a massive budget you haft to make triple that to make the game successful hints dlc from cut content. If you were gave 500million you would invest in to stuff and try to maximize your profit so your 500million could be double to triple that. If they put their whole game in the base it would have only scored them 1 half of the profits they have made of destiny.

Everyone has said it already. The end game is what... A raid. Well we had that from the first release. Nothing new there. Apart form the previous content is now considered void. ToO was introduced during house of wolves.yet ToO concept was around before then. The money pumped into this game and what they have charged up till now. The consumer has a right to expect more. If on par with other content currently available. Above all it has been proven there has been cut content. The original e3 trailers and gameplay are nothing what was said or advertised. Plus game play that is in the latest dlc was originaly shown in those trailers.
-
Mm hmm. If I had a dollar every time a kid like you claimed that there's "proof" of cut content, I'd be filthy rich. And in terms of content, Destiny has far more than the average game of the same price. Same with the expansions.
-
You messing right. Its been infront of you since the alpha days. And they even admitted to the story changing and why. So go do some research like an adult

Edited by Red Motive: 11/30/2015 9:59:12 AMDestiny has less end game content than before. So shove your "heaps of content" comment up your arse. Then Bungie go ahead and screw players who don't buy The Taken King, continue to lie and show disrespect towards their fan base to top it all off implement horrendous RNG. People have the right to be annoyed at Bungie and expect better of them.
-
It's because all the stuff added in DLC was "Cut Content" which have been proven on numerous occasions. People are getting pissed off because they're getting drip fed content that already resides within the game... Even the taken king has cut content in it and we're in year 2!
-
No it wasn't, and no, it hasn't.
-
Yes it has... The clip of Prince Uldren In his ship was in circulation Before the beta!!! The reef was done and dusted Before the HOW's and was in video clips Before the Beta!!! Vesta 347, meant to be a year 1 weapon.... now Bolean Gemini!!! Trials of Osiris... In The Beta yet didn't turn up till HOW's!!! Get your facts right! The vast majority is cut content! All stuff written by Joseph Staten and Josh Rubin! Who are both no longer with Bungie! The musical score for the whole 10 years was done prior to release of the alpha! And that's well documented in the court case of Marty O'Donnell VS Bungie... That should speak volumes in itself!!! All this info is out there for all to see, all you have to do is open your eyes! So get your facts right pleb! This is the reason why people are pissed off!!!

This guy believes that ToO was in the beta. That is the absolute dumbest thing I've ever heard. And the whole Marty O'Jackass thing was a travesty.

I agree with everything you've said with the exception of one thing. I highly doubt we'll get free expansions. Little events and such? Sure. However, Activision already released information hinting at microtransactions and expansions living harmoniously in Destiny's future. I do believe that these microtransactions will ultimately lead to better support and more frequent updates, but I seriously doubt that we'll get any free expansions. It's not likely. Activision is in control of DLC and Call of Duty expansions are still paid expansions - even with camos (microtransactions).
-
We don't even know what the release tactics are this time around. I wouldn't be surprised if they drop things a bit at a time, as opposed to one big release.
-
The content expansion wasnt even previewed yet which worries me to be honest with You...
-
They still have to make money. Microtransactions (especially of the emote variety) won't make as much as expansions. Bungie does this thing where if you don't have the latest expansion, you're behind. It's not like Call of Duty where you can be like "Eh, nah. These maps look bad. I'll skip it." You can't skip it. Hell, to buy The Taken King on PSN/XBL, you had to own The Dark Below and House of Wolves. Let's be real, paid expansions are most likely here to stay.

Free DLCs? Lets be real here please :) ... The "free" stuff will be events like Halloween and Christmas. Maybe a timegated quest here and there.
-
This.... Plus Activision already stated that micro transactions and paid DLC will co exist in the game
-
We wont get any dlc for free if thats what you think, we get more free cashgrab events, thats it
-
Is the new refer a friend mission not free?
-
It costs a friend and thats not considered content imo
-
It is! I want the "high five" emote that looks more as a slap in the face tbh.
-
Mm hmm. Sure. What a sad little man.
