I am totally anti-racist in every way, and I have good reason to be, seeing as how my best friends are of different nationalities, including african-american, jewish, mexican, and dutch. That being said, I'll say this. There are a few things I don't get. 1: The "N" word is extremely offensive to me, and I hate hearing the mention of it. What I don't get though is why so many african americans use this word when reffering to each other? It only tempts degenerate racists who hear them to use the word themselves. If you find it offensive, why use it yourself? 2: I have never heard the word "Jew" on Xbox Live in a derrogative manor. Now I have Jewish and Muslim friends, but I know I can't get the two of them in the room together because they dislike each other based on the context of thier religions. Doesnt make the hate right, but it would present an awkward scenario on live. 3: Religious folk seem to get the worst brunt of the annoyance from what I hear and expieriance personally. Sure, we hear degenerte morons use the "N" word, but I often hear most conversations directed at specific religions like Islam or Christianity more than I hear the racist slander. 4: We all have to do our part to clean up this mess, but we have to understand that when we put imperfect people who live in an imperfect world together, chaos ensues. Do your part by leaving feedback and not lowering yourself to thier levels by returning the trash talk they may spout at you based on your race or religion. What they're doing isn't right, but most likely, they're doing it to get a rise out of you. Verbaly retaliating is equivelant to pouring gasoline on a roaring fire.. It explodes. Conduct yourself as a lady or gentleman while among the uncouthe vulgar simpletons, and do your part by leaving feedback. Anyone else have anything to add? [Edited on 7/17/2005]
