The nintendo revolution is going to be backwards compatable all the way to the NES i think. You will have to buy/rent the game online.

I remember Microsoft announcing that they were making a computer console, long before the Saturn was ever created. In my personal view, playstation is the new Sega and Xbox is the new Nintendo.... The 'Nintega' (if you will) days are over... it's time for the PlayBox generation to come into play.
Posted by: dopey Doyle The N64 was alot more than just 3D graphics, it offered the first split screen multiplayer shooter and was the first console to have 4 controller ports. It was the first to make a controller with a thumb stick & a trigger.
No, the Bally Astrocade was the first to offer four controllers. If memory serves, there were several consoles before the N64 to offer 4 human inputs... It wasn't the first to offer a thumbstick either. The Saturn analog pad had a thumbstick. As for being the first to have a trigger, even the NES had triggers, or as I guess people call them now, shoulder buttons. The Z button was the first to be shaped like a trigger. (It was actually just a button. The trigger shape came from the plastic controller housing.) In comparison, the Xbox's triggers/shoulder buttons are pressure sensitive.
It was the beginning of an era, and without it... the Xbox would not be what it is today and there would probably be not Xbox 360...
No, without the Dreamcast the Xbox wouldn't be what is today. The N64's effect on Microsoft's decisions is miniscule compared to the Dreamcast. In fact, Peter Moore used to be Sega's Senior VP of Marketing.
So it didn't offer little, it offered everything. Now nintendo is for little kids, enjoy :)
*Veins throb*

Sure, seeing games in 3D was cool, but it offered little. Nintendo also -blam!- over the developers with the N64, and 3rd party support has been waning ever since. That being said, I'm still 110% sure I'm getting a revolution. Classic SNES titles, 'natch.
The N64 was alot more than just 3D graphics, it offered the first split screen multiplayer shooter and was the first console to have 4 controller ports. MMORPG will rule though!
-
I've never played any :) I always hated the controllers. The only games i ever really liked on PS, or PS2 were mainly Metal Gear, SSX Tricky, Devil May Cry, GTA and Tony Hawks 2. Other than that I just played my trusty old N64, come to think of it... i still do :)
-
The firs FF on the 360 will be Final Fantasy XI. Finally, an MMORPG on the Xbox!
-
Yay! I've always loved Final Fantasy....no wait....I didn't even play it until Final Fantasy X came out.
-
The maker of the Final Fantasy series has signed a contract (made a deal with microsoft) and he'll be making a brand new RPG for XBOX360 ONLY.
-
That's why Xbox 360 needs .Hack!!! Or How about Initial D? Or a D.N. Angel RPG? C'mon people there has to be something the PS systems don't already have? Read the BSD vvvvvvvvv [Edited on 7/16/2005]

has anyoen noticed that since the hardware release at E3, the PS3 has gone downhill? I've seen and heard that the processors may not work, so when you geta PS3, it may give you the blue screen of death. And they said you won't get a refund. Secondly, the developer of something inside the PS3 has left Sony. And more bad news for the PS3 is soon to come. And the 360 at E3, all the games were running at a fourth of the 360's final power.

one more crucial point was that ps2 was released a year before the xbox. everyone bought what they thought was going to be the best next generation thing as soon as it came out. of course that has been proven wrong performance wise. also the reason the japenese don't like xbox is because it doesn't a 10 game long series of some wide eyed anime weirdo. lack of rpgs basically, you know how the japenese like it, slow, tedious, and boring.
-
Yeah, but you're forgetting one crucial point... Microsoft owns Bungie.
-
How do you mean compete better in the market? PS2 outsold xbox 80 million to 20 million. It also utterly dominates the european market, not just japan and the far east. Even in the usa the brand is so ingrained that the xbox is outsold. I would like to see a more even market between xbox360 and ps3 but microsoft is fighting an uphill struggle against sony's dominance.

yea ps3 will outsell xbox cuz of all the asians but xbox360 will compete better in the market i think (then it did when it was xbox vs ps2)
-
PS3 will probably outsell xbox360 but lack a decent fps.... hmmm...........................
-
lol go nintendo revolution!!!!!
