and raids aren't guaranteed because they're time consuming." Well the $$$$ your studio demands from the consumer shouldn't be too lofty and shouldn't be guaranteed neither. Again Bungie, keep this joker indoors stuck in the office and not outside doing PR stuff, he's not making anything better opening his mouth.....
It's hilarious, Tefty Teft the Podcast cast host cued Mr. Smith to not say that and Lukee Dookee kept on putting his foot in his mouth regarding how difficult it was to design and create raids and how it's just unrealistic to satisfy everybody in the gaming community. At least he's honest and not very hard to figure out, but the guy is a complete A-hole and douche bag. There's a time and place for one to be completely honest and speak their mind, but not when your trying to sell something or provide a service to group of people, I guess he missed that point in college economics 101 class.....lol!!!!!

See this is why I stopped playing and went to Fallout 4. Free content updates, modding (on consoles), and awesome DLC that won't -blam!- your wallet like a Japanese pornstar.

Edited by FlandreScarlette: 11/29/2015 8:02:59 PMSure, we can ask for a bit on the crazy side, but when they can't even meet SIMPLE expectations... They literally made a "community wishlist" and have hit all of 3-5 things out of like...50. Custom games? Dedicated servers? These are all staples in any FPS. Why doesn't Destiny have them? And better yet... Why, after a year and a few months, does Destiny still not have them? Content that doesn't start looping after a week? Too much to ask for? Raid drops that have triple RNG in them, and that's not even counting your odds of getting gear to begin with. Am I the only one that finds myself getting bored doing PvE? And maybe, instead of adding emotes that we all saw in Destiny's E3, maybe add things we actually ask for. Sure, introduce micro transactions before fixing the things that are wrong with the game. Screw over an entire Iron Banner, blame it on a bug, while focusing on your money grabber. Last I checked, Destiny has been doing fine on money, so emotes were obviously just a way to make another quick buck. With your new funds in your wallet Bungie, you really have no excuses to why we don't have good servers, fresh content, and things like custom games. I love your game, I do, but there are numerous flaws in it. Flaws I don't see in other games. And don't even get me started on the shady cut content nonsense. Destiny has the potential to be so much more. To actually be amazing. I'll stick around and hope to see that happen. But I won't be surprised if it doesn't. Bleh, that probably sounded rant-y, I don't even care. Now, in relation to the actual raid part- Oh my god, something time consuming to create in Destiny. That's a first! If you notice, raids often end up being people's favorite things to do. You know, instead of that fantastic story mode, wonderful time walking through the same area backwards again, and killing Taniks for the 9001st time. Those things must've taken ages to make ='D I understand raids take time to make. Just make them feel rewarding enough and people won't want to move on so quickly. I love King's Fall, but the lack of actually good rewards has me ready for something else to come out. You went from Fatebringer/Blackhammer crutch level of weapons...to absolutely terrible weapons, no offense. You gotta find the middle ground. This triple RNG thing also isn't to my liking, but I can't win them all.
This post is gunna sound so bitchy, haha. I still love this game, just wish that Bungie wasn't such jerks about everything <3
Getting a raid reward that's properly calculated from the light level as they've promised is too lofty? I think their empty promises are too lofty.
-
My 'lofty' expectations are based purely on what THEY sold me on.
-
I love luke smith so much. He can easily be someone to look up to because he does not give a single -blam!- about all the cry babies in the forums and gives you scrubs the middle finger and guess what? You still give him money and make him richer and richer. Just proves how he has balls of a leader and how most of you are sheeps that follow while bitching. That's why I don't bitch because if I don't like something I just don't support it or go back to it. People complaining about destiny and throwing shit at it but still play it and buy every dlc are like fat people complaining about being fat while ordering everything in the menu at Mcdonalds.
-
I don't know why they are losing players. Hum?
-
Luke Smith is that guy in the bar who thinks he is edgy and popular, only he cant see he is the arrogant twat that people fantasise about beating to a pulp. On one hand he wants us to recruit people to play his game and then says that we have lofty expectations and things arent guarenteed because they are "time consuming" .. *slow claps*

Edited by The-Man-In-Plaid: 11/29/2015 9:09:30 PMHe just needs to fix the loot drops in nightfall and raids and add old strikes back to playlist that's all I want but I guess the fat man thinks that's to hard I can't wait until more people complain about yo the point where bungie gets someone that's not an asshole and does his job.
-
All people want are more loot drops. I don't see why they can't do this.
-
Luke Smith is not nearly as bad as all these cottled whiners believe..... First world problems....get a grip!
-
Luke Smith goes: We need more money thrown at the screen to devlop more content. How did you honestly expect Quests to last untill the end of the year when we have to develop them for FOUR CONSOLES??? ...I- I just expected endless Quests in Y2 Luke Smith, Im sorry pls be nice to people who played RPGs before Destiny.
-
Luke smith is just being honest. He's probably tired of the community bitching about every single thing that their company does and I would be too.
-
I enjoy destiny and I enjoy Luke haha. The gaming community should be able to have a good laugh. How often can a company have someone who is that open about what really goes on. Anyone really think bungie chooses not to censor him because maybe they are not the ones pushing the $$$ out of people? I'll I'm saying is that if you love the game, great enjoy it. If you're looking to nit pick every dollar that goes into entertainment maybe this games not for you. I've bout the base game -$60 Dark below - $20 House of wolves - $20 The taken King - $40 And $20 in silver But in the past 14 months I've also had 1200 hours of entertainment. The ups and downs come with anything you do. But over all dollar for dollar, it's worth it (to me)
-
it wouldn't be a problem but there's so many overly sensitive pussies in this community

Edited by xDeFalt: 11/29/2015 8:22:08 PMLol...We want to get away with charging $25 for a dlc.....but we don't want to put anything in it. Yea.....cuz that worked so well with HoW right? The raids are your only saving grace 95% of the time you simpleton. I guarantee if they try to drop another dlc without a raid that destiny will just crumble. They need to realize they don't have any ground to stand on anymore. The only reason people put up with bungies shit is because, quite frankly, it was the only -blam!-ing option at the time. Now that we have some triple A titles to choose from, they have no leverage. You don't want to give a -blam!- about the quality of your game or dlc and flip the bird to the players of your disappointing game? Fine, watch destiny hop onto the same train titanfall took, it's already on its way.
-
This is a lofty ass game the -blam!- does he expect???
-
oh my god you are actually mad because he was honest? Jesus Christ people like you and the cancerous replies here are why I have no faith in humanity
-
Edited by SoSorryUDie: 11/29/2015 5:42:13 PMUhhh this community's expectations are lofty. For example.... BUNGIE PLEASE NERF EVERYTHING BUNGIE PLEASE BUFF EVERYTHING BUNGIE I WANT MORE RAIDS BUNGIE KINGS FALL WAS AWESOME I WANT MOAAAAAARRRRRRRR BUNGIE FU*K SUNBREAKER BUNGIE DESTINY IS DEAD BUNGIE FU*K YOOOOOOUUUUUU Gee I would love to work for a community that bites the hand that feeds it. We're community full of smart asses. Why shouldn't Bungie be able to hire smart asses too.
-
They don't even need to "redo" the raids. Just add in a transmog system and bump up the the raids to level 40 or 41. Problem solved.
-
...so you'd rather be duped by marketing jargon in a podcast interview designed to make Bungie just a tiny bit transparent?
-
Have you even been to college yet ?
-
Edited by Ktan_Dantaktee: 11/29/2015 6:19:48 PMWell, he's not wrong. The amount of work that goes into a good Raid is staggering. If y'all want a Raid every Expansion, then expect Crota's End levels of quality. I'd rather they go Raid > Arena > Raid > Arena so they can focus on making the Raids the best possible experience they can. Luke gets bashed because he's telling you all what you've been demanding for months: the truth. The truth is that game development isn't easy, it takes a LOT of time and effort, and there's bound to be screw ups. In order to make Raids as complex, fun, and long as King's Fall and Vault of Glass, the Raid design team needs time. They have to come up with mechanic concepts, boss designs, art style, music, level design, concept art, reward gear art/stat/perk design, and then having to code all of it. That takes time, and a LOT of it. So, the option is either waiting 6-8 months between Raids to get the best possible Raid, or waiting 3-4 months between Raids and getting lackluster Raids. Luke is a smart guy who's been with Bungie for a long while; he knows what he's doing and is doing his very best to deliver the most enjoyable experience possible.
-
He's a real spoken person. He's truly respectable. He doesn't sugar coat the truth. As someone who works with the public on a daily basis, I know how people are. I can give the same answer two different ways to the same person and only one of the answers is satisfying to him or her. It's the sugar coated one. This shows how dumb and selfish people are.
-
Bruh.... That podcast was months ago. Or at least a month ago. Before TTK for sure. Get relevant and quit trying to bring up old ish ye ol bish. He just being real which i respect more then getting lied to.
-
It's almost as funny as when he was asked about if developing for the ps3/360 was a bad idea, he completely dodged the question. Like. The whole Skype interview he was quick in his answers but then at that one he had to stop and pick what he wanted to say. 'Twas so obvious. It was one of the interview before TTK launched.

Community expectations..and those are what? ..to not have a BROKEN GAME? A story with a beginning, middle or end? If thats too great of an expectation then this slovenly prick needs to find another career. How about this Luke, instead of trying to make your pvp nerf babies happy (which NEWS FLASH will never happen) worry about what really needs a look ie poor mmo wannabe mechanics, lack of competent story, or i dont know something that any AMATEUR game designer would fix like where enemies spawn? If i can sit and camp a cave then thats a problem. Public events happen in the SAME places. We spawn in the SAME locations. These are noticeably glaring problems. You claim you want people using different gear and weapons yet you leave year 1 stuff behind? You have tons of nice looking blue and green gear yet those models dont upgrade to anything legendary or exotic?? Why not? Quagmire looks sick and if that had a legendary or exotic counterpart id run it..Way to go. Heres one..GIVE PEOPLE MORE TO CHOOSE FROM AND YOULL HAVE EVERYONE USING DIFFERENT SHIT! 8O Anyways..guess im done ranting. And to the ones who just love to start drama and reply on posts simply to get off, not this guy. Have fun trolls. :)
