The new Trials system is bad and let me tell you why.
Imagine you are on your final game to go flawless. The final round is among you. Both teams have 4 round wins and its down to the final push. 1 mistake could cost you the game. Both your teamates are dead and both of the enemy teamates as well.
The enemy throws an incendiary grenade and it barely grazes you. He charges in with a shotgun because you have burn damage applied and you are able to retaliate by also burning him with your melee despite you dying soon after. You watch as the ticks slowly come in as you pray he dies from burn before the timer confirms the game. He dies... A second too late.
You just wasted around an hour of your life despite having an amazing game to tell your friends.
How did that game make you feel afterwards? The fact that 50% of the players who are on their 8-0 card will achieve sweet victory while the other 50% of teams are burried in defeat without any incentive for their hard work is absolutely heart breaking when you fall victim to that other 50%.
I implore you, the player, to take action and bump this post so Bungie can see. Maybe a new loot system can be devised to reward all players for their hard work and time. A single grenade or shot should not define wether or not a player waste their time or not.

But if you cant: 50% of the people who are on a 8-0 card will go flawless. The other 50% will not only be burried in defeat by an inevitable outcome, but will have completely wasted their time.
Edit 1: You guys are COMPLETELY MISSING THE POINT. The only way to get 310+ legendaries in a trials playlist is from the final chest. The new system ALMOST GUARANTEES you will be matched with someone 8-0. You read the rest above now...
Edit 2: Thanks for you guys bringing up the mercy! It is absolute garbage that you need to LOSE A GAME to afford boons...
Edit 3: I have gone flawless 4(?) times. I know what Im talking about. I saw a youtube comment that referenced this problem and had 200+ likes.

They have raid level drops throughout the way. You can never win a game and still get a 310+ exotic. If you are decent and use all your boobs your are gianteed a 300+ gun and armor piece The lighthouse is for the small percent of players who can play at that level. Not everyone deserves to get there. Get over it.

1 ReplyThey need to fix drops on tier packages. All I've gotten from silver tear is blue engram's. And gold just gives me a trial item 300-305. Never gotten exotic from either tier. And blue engram's on silver since trials came out is sad bungie.

But if you still have your mercy you get 2 attempts to get from 8-0 to 9-0, meaning that 75% of players who reach 8-0 get to the lighthouse. Also, the silver and gold bounties can reward gear above 310. Your post is completely invalid.

I think Bungie did right by making it harder to reach the lighthouse so it should stay like that. The only change I'd make is if someone has already reached lighthouse with all 3 characters but continue to play cos that enjoy playing trials they only get matched with players that have also achieved this. If you're playing purely to ruin other people flawless trial then there is something wrong with you.

Isn't this exactly how real life tournaments work? You end up with 2 teams and only one of them takes the prize. That's what makes it exiting. It doesn't matter how big or small the difference was between the teams. IMO you are pushing it. You have the silver and gold tier rewards, those are also for people that go 8-1. Sometimes I think of all the "suggestions" Bungie gets on a day, it's ridiculous lol. We should be careful with getting rewarded for more and more, because the value of the rewards will drop. Everytime streamers do carry to the lighthouse it is awesome especially realkrafty but then I realize that more people are being -blam!-ed over than being help The system really sucks but u gotta deal it is a pain tho

Maybe a 310+ armour/weapon (not adept) when u finish the card with 9 wins (just as an incentive to finish the card)

3 RepliesI'm going to disagree. Trials is the PVP hardcore tournament of Destiny, where literally everything matters. You class, build, grenades, weapons, the map, play style, etc. all have a role to play when you enter the ToO. I think this is the way it should have been from the start. The higher you advance, the harder it gets. It's exactly like a Sports play-offs season. A team can go all the way to the finals, which would be like a Fireteam getting 8 wins, only to lose because of one fatal flaw. Trials is the hardest, and most intense game mode in Destiny IMO. It serves as some type of tournament. This is the way a tournament usually works. So I love this new system. -[i]The guy with no house.[/i]

I had a game earlier today where we were at a standstill. The match was locked. 4-4. 1 win and that's it. I'm on one side, enemy team is on the other. Time runs out and the objective comes in. This is when I feel Bungie didn't have brains. The objective spawned...on the opponent's side! I ran maybe 4 steps before losing the match. Why don't they give an even 50-50 chance and spawn the damn thing in the middle of the map, rather on one side in particular. I swear they have some people that can't do the simplest of shit right.

This is true plus their crap servers kicked me with an error code while loading into my eighth trials match we were 7-0 and bungle gives me a loss through my mercy I literally told my friends I'm through with this shìt this week for bungle doing that

The reason you're getting a lot of people disagreeing with you is because most play trials for the competition and the challenge. I agree that it's frustrating knowing you just ruined some other teams day by winning your ninth game and causing them to lose theirs...or vice versa...but that's what Bungie wants it to be and that's what most competitive crucible players want from the experience.

The lighthouse should be a rare area for those skilled enough to get there. I like or the new system because it ensures a fair match. If you are good enough to get 8-0, you should be matched with another team who is. In year one, it was all luck with your matches, now it's a good match nearly every time.

1 ReplyI run hard mode every week times 3 a still can't get a helm or a primary to drop. Video games are just a fun way to waste time. I know running the raid isn't going to give me what I need but I do it anyway.... "Shoots self in foot"
