I don't see what the point of judging players using their grimore was all about.

Hell of a lot more to grim score than ghosts

9 RepliesEdited by Trooper8059: 11/28/2015 2:17:02 AMThis is My Grimoire Chart -100-1000: Completely New Player -1000-2000: Played For a Couple Weeks/Months -2000-2500: Casual Player or Strict PvP Player -2500-3500: Above Average Player -3500-4000: "I Know What To Do, and am Fine at it." or The "I Don't Have Time for Ghosts." -4000-4500: Dedicated Player -4500+: Elite Player, Collector, Achievement Hunter That's how I see it in my brain, but there always is the occasions where my chart is wrong due to certain situations. (Xbox to PlayStation, or Vice Verse) I don't judge people based off it, but I get a small assumption on what type of player they are, but I wait and see how they actually are, before making strict opinions on it. I see it more as a Measure of the Experience a player has with the game.

Some people claim it is the best representative stat of how "seasoned" or "experienced" a player is in Destiny. Grimoire not only accounts for finding dead ghosts, it goes beyond that and you can check it out on the app.
-
4720. Missing 30+ points on certain weapon kills and some wins in rumble. Running out of shit to do.
-
It's not ghosts, I never actually hunt for those. You get grimore for kills as any class, by any class, and for using weapons and completing activities. So grimore does mean something.

2 RepliesJudging people on their grimoire is a little stupid, imo. Mine is somewhere around 4200 +/-(haven't bothered to look in while), but I'm a day one/beta player. It's that low because I HATE pvp in this game, and that's where a lot of grimoire comes from. I havent done trials at all, never done an iron banner, and pretty much only go in the crucible for the weapon quests.

I bet a lot of players aren't spending their weekends looking for dead ghosts
You do realise collecting dead ghost isn't going to give you a high Grimiore?

14 RepliesEdited by Sherpa: 11/28/2015 6:07:09 AMGrimoire Max is about 4700 (4780 I believe?) Ghost give 600 That leaves 4100 That 4100 is a mix of kills and completions all correlating to experience. Experience =/= skill However usually the more experienced a person the smoother things go. Grimoire is a first impression on experience in end game activities. For example... 0-2500 grimoire - most likely has done very little raids if any at all (at most 5) usually doesn't know what to do but depending on the person can learn and hold their own just fine 2501-3000 - little raid completions (0-15) on the lower end to moderate raid completions as you get to the higher end (probably about 25) has a decent idea on what to do can usually hold their own 3101-4000 good amount of raid completions (30-50 usually) especially as you reach the higher end. Good understand of mechanics and can hold their own as well as make up for weak links (not always the case) 4100-max - high raid completions has very good understanding of what to do. Can make up for weak links and usually capable of teaching those weak links and teaching strategies to help them. (Not always the case) Myself for example I have 4675 grimoire. 98 VoG completions, 188 crota completions, and 30 kings fall completions. I've carried/mentored through each raid AND I've carried multiple people through flawless raider (solo crota while they sit still). I've taught them how to solo crota, as well as different strategies for each raid. I've taken teams through their first kings fall (some off these very forums) as well as the other raids. I've carried people through skolas and taught them the fight. That's the case usually for a lot of the high grimoire players; they're usually mentors/sherpas

Why not?

It's a good indicator of experience and dedication to the game, nothing more. Just because someone has high grimoire that doesn't mean they have high skill, but when compared to players with significantly lower grimoire I'm willing to bet that most of the time the players with higher gimoire are more experienced and skillful at the given activity then the players with lower grimoire. It's not so much a measure of actual skill as it is a measure of dedication. If you care about getting a high grimoire odds are you also care about being good at the game. I would never judge a player based on their grimoire alone, but this is how I see it.
-
It's just a quick way to base someone's "experience level" in the game, but it can sometimes fool you. I've played with people who have maxed grimoire but were terrible at the game. IMO, anyone that's been playing for a year or more should be in the 3800+ range easily. I attempted to find all the ghosts and then quickly got bored. Not worth the other 200~ grimoire for the ones I'm missing.

2 RepliesLol because farming ogre kills with sidearms makes u leet

1 ReplyBasically if your grimore is 4k you've put in the time to learn all the roles use all the subclasses. Played all the game types and won. That being said. I'll take 3 4k players over 100 2k players . They can switch classes efficiently. Understand the needs of a raid or mechanism required . O and 4k players genuinely know how to use the -blam!-ing jump button. Gawd I hate scrubs

Jay is right but it doesn't determine skill
-
It's a rough estimate of how much experience you have playing the game. It's not even close to reliable, but it's an initial impression.
-
three words 100 rumble wins
-
Because it means I'm the best.
-
1 ReplyIt shows if you are new or not For example you have a level 40 at 310 light with 2985 grimore and a level 40 at 310 light with 4680 grimore. Who would you pick for the raid team?
-
Dead ghosts do NOT take a long time to collect nor do NOT make up a significant portion of max grimoire like people make out.
-
11 RepliesI use it just too see what sort of experience level you're at. 3000 or lower-Scrub/kinderguardian 3100-3500 - Meh. Depends. 3600-4000 - Getting better 4100-4500 - Good 4600-4700 - Very good 4700+ - Godly
-
Grimore does mean something as that represemt what a players have been gone through. However, it does not mean everything because people may have carried by others, and collectable only need patience and some “youtubing”. Conclusion: It make some sense to judge players with their grimore but that is first impression only. Better fire up the app and check their status.

2 RepliesWell, i checked your grimoire and i would assume you are a kinderguardian. Now i may be wrong but people don't like having inexperienced players in their fireteams so they would rather have year 1 players with more experience. Just my thought on the matter

Edited by Trooper8059: 11/28/2015 2:15:34 AMGrimoire should just be removed honestly.
