I keep seeing posts about how the first part of the chaperone quest is so hard. This is the exactly the kind of thing bungie would nerf to cater to ultra casuals.
I have The Chaperone. I got it week three cause I slacked off on the final mission (which is a lot harder than the first part). I didn't boost and I did it on my warlock. Check my sub one kd if you want, but if a scrub like me can get this gun then you can too.
I did most of my matches in Rift. Lots of people congregating in one spot makes for easy pickings. As others have said, you just need the gun equipped when you get kills so bust out those machine guns and go nuts!
Anyway Bungie, please do not nerf this quest. It's a good level of difficulty for a good weapon.

Edit: More tips
- Try mayhem, as long as your equipped primary is TLW, all your secondary/heavy/super kills will count towards the quest
- You get 3 points for a win, so equip the gun prior to a match win for easy points
I've seen a lot of people saying that this quest is easy. I'm not here to refute that. It will be easier for some and more difficult for others. But that's the way it should be. :) I'd also like to thank everyone for being civil, it's a refreshing change of pace from your usual forum fare.

Did it in 2 Games #RipY1LastWord

I don't know what it is, but I just can't make good progress. I did the first curse quest super easily, so it isn't just being unskilled
-
Took four matches of mayhem clash.

Edited by Obi Wan Macaroni: 11/27/2015 9:37:13 PMwell its not that hard though... Did it in 6 matches or something. The quest makes the weapon unique.

It's like Thorn on steroids: you hate it while it happens, but generally look back with fond memories and a feeling of accomplishment. Only difference is Thorn used to be worth the quest. Chaperone really isn't.
-
Its easy already we dont need easier
-
Did it week one thought only Tlw kills count.
-
I got it, it's trash anyway and getting further nerfed, i get headshots a lot so i was excited until I realized it has bad range and bad perks
-
They're making it easier? It's already easy, might as well give it to everyone.
-
Man, I did it in 2 rounds! I dont know what people complain about.
-
They never nerfed the thorn bounty, I wouldn't expect them to change this one.
-
Me and 2 buds were a-holes and did it on 3 titans. We got heavy, ran to the highest traffic area, and popped 3 bubbles. Had it done in like 3 or 4 matches

Well done https://youtu.be/kMHLitw4Bg4

Half the players who have it cheated in rumble anyways to get it. They need to fix that first.
-
I don't see why it matters, shotguns are getting nerfed badly, and I usually snipe

Edited by Geovenchy: 11/27/2015 8:10:40 PMWhat was the first step again? I have The Chaperone but forgot the quest steps. I can only remember The First Curse steps. Edit: Only remember the Bond Brothers step which was actually fairly easy. I joined a mid strike while two people were killing one and it gave me 1/2, then I ran it again for the last guy.

I've not done the quest because I don't like shotguns. I will sign this, it needs to be difficult as it is a quest not a giveaway
-
Do not make it harder just some people are bad

I agree, I stuck at pvp so didn't touch the quest for a while but when I did it took me a couple hours and I did it on rift too. Just rely on heavy and super for the kill streaks, you only need to have the equipped don't need to use it

It is probably the hardest quest step I've ever tried to complete. I made it to 58% and then in one game went back down to 38%. I don't want it to be any easier though. Once I finish it, I will feel really accomplished, and I'll know that I earned that gun.
