Petition to NOT make The Chaperone's quest easier
I keep seeing posts about how the first part of the chaperone quest is so hard. This is the exactly the kind of thing bungie would nerf to cater to ultra casuals.
I have The Chaperone. I got it week three cause I slacked off on the final mission (which is a lot harder than the first part). I didn't boost and I did it on my warlock. Check my sub one kd if you want, but if a scrub like me can get this gun then you can too.
I did most of my matches in Rift. Lots of people congregating in one spot makes for easy pickings. As others have said, you just need the gun equipped when you get kills so bust out those machine guns and go nuts!
Anyway Bungie, please do not nerf this quest. It's a good level of difficulty for a good weapon.

Edit: More tips
- Try mayhem, as long as your equipped primary is TLW, all your secondary/heavy/super kills will count towards the quest
- You get 3 points for a win, so equip the gun prior to a match win for easy points
I've seen a lot of people saying that this quest is easy. I'm not here to refute that. It will be easier for some and more difficult for others. But that's the way it should be. :) I'd also like to thank everyone for being civil, it's a refreshing change of pace from your usual forum fare.

Rift is a good suggestion, cheers. I was trying to get the first part finished last night/this morning and got to 98%, then got pub stomped (I wasn't in a fire team) across about four matches of Control straight. To say I was on tilt doesn't even begin to cover it, now on 60%. Really, really stressed me out! Might have to try LFG a decent XBONE fire team for Rift this eve.

OK, I don't have the chaperone and I'm stuck on the first part as well and I don't want them to change a thing. I want some difficulty in obtaining the item. Just because I play this game doesn't mean I should automatically get said weapon.

1 ReplyI don't have it, but I'm fine with it being difficult. I haven't gotten it because the quest is so difficult, but if I decide I really want it, I'll have to go earn it. That's how it should be.

Agreed, except I think they should take away the wait for weekly reset step after the first people complete it. I finished the last word part a long time ago but I just did the strike yesterday, so now I have to wait for a gun that isn't time gated anymore.

It's not too easy by any means. It's also not too hard. I had a little struggle getting it done but I've done it with my Hunter and Warlock. Don't nerf it. It's for an exotic so it shouldn't be a cake walk.

It's not worth it anyway. Now that may not stand, with the shotgun nerf right around the corner. It's possible that it could compete with shottys outside of their range. But for right now, that thing is not very good. I'll stick with my pre-shot package nerf Felwinters with every stat maxed out, with full auto, knee pads, another knee pads, Wolfpack rounds, and 99 AA.

I suck at crucible. But if the team isn't at least decent, it may be difficult to get the gun. I went from 0 to 20% and back in two matches. I don't think it should be nerfed but I would suggest doing it with a teammate you know. Otherwise it is hard as hell.

Make it harder/longer I wanna grind not finish the quest in one day and then wait a week for armsday
