I keep seeing posts about how the first part of the chaperone quest is so hard. This is the exactly the kind of thing bungie would nerf to cater to ultra casuals.
I have The Chaperone. I got it week three cause I slacked off on the final mission (which is a lot harder than the first part). I didn't boost and I did it on my warlock. Check my sub one kd if you want, but if a scrub like me can get this gun then you can too.
I did most of my matches in Rift. Lots of people congregating in one spot makes for easy pickings. As others have said, you just need the gun equipped when you get kills so bust out those machine guns and go nuts!
Anyway Bungie, please do not nerf this quest. It's a good level of difficulty for a good weapon.
Sign if you agree.
Edit: More tips
- Try mayhem, as long as your equipped primary is TLW, all your secondary/heavy/super kills will count towards the quest
- You get 3 points for a win, so equip the gun prior to a match win for easy points
I've seen a lot of people saying that this quest is easy. I'm not here to refute that. It will be easier for some and more difficult for others. But that's the way it should be. :) I'd also like to thank everyone for being civil, it's a refreshing change of pace from your usual forum fare.

Edited by Cbrettv: 11/27/2015 3:21:15 PMThey are nerfing shotguns. Keep this quest hard and make it one of the few viable shotguns

Signed. The last thing we need is a nerf to quests besides the exotic sword one
-
As it stands now the quest is almost too easy making it any easier would be the same as giving it to xur to sale
-
I did the whole quest in about 2 hours the other day. Just gotta wait for reset before I can get it now. Had it sitting there for over a month, thought I better finally get it done.

What is so hard to get tlw kill
-
The imprecation quest is even worst. That gun sucks donkey kong balls.

Only change I think could be warranted is allowing people to use either TLW or The First Curse; as they're both tex mechanica guns.
-
It'll be indirectly easier anyway once the hand cannons are fixed.

Mayhem is the easy mode for this quest. It's what I did.
-
Signed it made me better at PvP doing this quest.

You have already done the quest so changing the difficulty has no effect whatsoever on you. You know you completed it when it was hard. Why does it matter how difficult it is for anyone else, whom of which you don't know or ever will know. With this in mind please let me know the reason for your post other than you don't want other random people to get this gun. FYI I have already done it.

It's a shit quest. Run around with last word equipped, kill stuff using anything but the last word. Yeah it's earned but hiding in a corner then popping a super or getting a heavy drop isn't exactly skilled. That and about half the ppl I know who got it right after TTK boosted the bounty anyway.
-
Sign. It's too good to give to casuals
-
Keep it the way it is. I don't want anymore double body shot Chaperone users. If you can't use it right, don't use it at all.
-
Kinda. I also suck at crucible but got it as early as possible (armsday waiting sucks) I worked my scrubby ass off for it. I'm proud. But, I don't necessarily want others to have to go through that :/
-
Hard Quests are filters for keeping the good content at some acceptable level of importance and give the player who completed it gain some reputation and self-valorization It's perfect
-
I have the quest still don't have the gun because it's such a pain in the ass. But I agree with you 100% Bungie needs to stop babying these players. The quest is what it is. Nice post.
-
Signed. Did the crucible pronk in less than 30min. Do rumble.

Agreed. I hate the last word and am not particularly good at PvP. It took me longer than I wanted, but I got the gun in the end. I have no problem with not being able to get hold of certain guns if I can't play well enough to complete the challenge. I also like the Chaperone quest because you can complete it as a solo player - even the shield brothers strike has matchmaking. Rather this than No Time to Explain where you at least need a fireteam to kill Atheon.
-
Signed. TLW is fun but shotgun... If they nerf shotgun in PVP then I'm happy to complete this quest. More challenging.
And no I'm a Sniper user who doesn't complaining about shotgun. So what the deal?
Edited by jitsudave: 11/27/2015 10:45:53 AMSigned. Chaperone is a pvp specific gun built for pvp content. There are raid weapons you only get from raids. I don't see why there shouldn't be pvp weapons The idea you have to be good at the game (not just one part of it) is fair to get all the stuff - did it half way through my second match. :)
