A: Referees: Players who don’t own Destiny: The Taken King.
https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/13962 Referee status Referees are new players looking to play Destiny: The Taken King with a Veteran. Players may qualify for referral for 7 days when playing Destiny: The Taken King for the first time after purchase. Only players who qualify for Referee status may accept a referral. Referees may only accept a single referral. Veteran status is automatically granted once a player logs into Destiny: The Taken King.

Edited by Game Over: 11/26/2015 7:40:11 PMHere's how I did it.. My friend was lvl 40... He played taken king on my account.. He decided to buy taken king for his home.. Because he technically just bought taken king on his account.. We were off on the quest in no time..didn't even have to level to 40 because he already was there..hope this helps Long story short, if you have a friend stuck at lvl 34 because he didn't buy ttk, encourage him to get it, it works fine.
