Why do so many people follow "bungie" with words like "are"?

Bungie is a company. Bungie is a group of employees. Bungie employees are making decisions together. Bungie are a company? People is dumb?

 • The problem is that people are lazy on the internet and like to spend as little time forming sentences as possible. Therefore they end up leaving out key parts that create the appearance of a phrase being grammatically incorrect. For example, in the phrase "Bungie are doing stuff", you can think of it instead as "[The people at]Bungie are doing stuff" In the poster's mind, they have this necessary context and believe it sounds fine. From the outside perspective, not having this context means we assume the subject is actually "Bungie" rather than "people"; therefore, our conclusion is to change the plural "are" to "is". This debate then becomes not a matter of grammer, but a matter of context, as either party can be argued to be correct depending on the information gathered. Except that these are the Destiny forums, and no one cares about grammer here. I don't even care about grammer...never got better than a D- in English myself. What we can be sure of, is that there is a high probability that most people are simply unable to think past their own conclusions in order to find a possible truth that isn't black or white. Then again people tell me I think too much.
