I agree wholeheartedly with your assessment of the community and Bungie's lack of presence on the forums. I'd like to add that the forums are not well-moderated. Community leaders should participate and, well, lead community discussions over crucial topics such as weapon balancing and game enhancements. Rarely do I see a moderator reply to a post unless it is in response to a compliment. It would go a long way to see the community manager post a poll or ask for an opinion from the community. I don't know if this is done using another medium or not at all. The most recent event that illustrates the developers lack of communication was its use of Twitter to convey the early end of Iron Banner. The last event closed early as well and Cozmo vowed to communicate that type of information via sticky post in the future but failed to do so. This community should be the hub of Destiny related information that should then be distributed to other mediums. Not the other way around.

I agree that this community is not well moderated, and I really do think bungie should communicate more with the community. I've actually jumped ship over to black ops 3 for a few, and just the other day I was having a conversation with a real life treyarch employee. It was incredible actually feeling like I was apart of something. We were talking about some of the weapon balancing and he was asking for opinions on certain weapons. Its so weird actually interacting with someone from the company and seeing them consistently on the forums replying to people. Hell Deej replies once a week to some random post about their dog, and treyarch is replying multiple times a day to people and starting discussion amongst the community on how they can better the game.
