Well said. I wish the community here was a little less toxic also. My mute list has grown into the many hundreds after browsing the forums for the past two years. Many others have given reasons why the community is the way it is. Myself? I like playing destiny and find it to be fun. I also generally like the way Bungie has evolved the game. I don't believe the theories that "content was cut" or that Bungie hates it's player base. Life is too short to get upset things that I have zero control over. I believe that if you don't like the game, don't play it. I'm sure I'll get called names for it, but whatever.

If you were on ps4 I'd totally hit you up. Between the shitposts and the junk about the whole game sucking for everything they do, its bothersome finding anything worthwhile on these forums. My best advice, find a good clan, and stick with them.

I posted a MASSIVE post about all my issues that still seem to persist in this game - up until a month ago I played regularly but not really anymore - and I have been playing since the Alpha. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/176137330/0/0/1 I was part of a bunch of groups that were involved with Rainbow 6 Vegas, Resistance, Counter-Strike, Battlefield... so much fun in a lot of those and I agree there are a LOT of COD children that toxify this game. Also, I posted this earlier in the 10+ Day Club thread: It's been a while since I have played, but I'll bite. ( I always check the forums from time to time to see if any better changes have been made, or if the outfitter would finally have the winters born emblem so I could complete my collection lol first time I hopped in today just that damn emblem.) 1750 hours here... Almost all of that hoping against hope the game would get better. I'm grateful for a lot of that time but having "seen the light" and seeing how a proper system of shooter-rng-mmo mechanics should work in a game PROPERLY like Fallout 4, I can only say I wish Fallout 4 would have came out earlier. Don't care what anybody says, you play Fallout 4 or even Witcher 3 for even an hour and it craps all over any of these supposed systems that make this game great. Crazy to think a developer gives freedom to their' players instead of punishing them. Ironically Destiny is a game BUILT for an amazing single player experience, but suffers because people abuse multiplayer aspects. In a perfect world the single player would be a completely separate game so it would be handled with better care. If you are one of those people that says the multiplayer in this game is awesome, I'm sorry you're crazy. Get out there and play some more multiplayer games and see how it should actually be done. They're always doing nerfs in this, the netcode is broken, everybody is all about shotty / blink strike still, Titan Hammers or self-rezing fools. What a joke. I hope anybody still addicted to this - the biggest broken promise, most severe stripped-content game in history - moves on... There are so many other games that are built better and reward you better for time spent. Don't get me wrong I still have hope for this game, but unless some really significant changes happen, I don't know if the massive amount of people that have left - like me - will really come back. Bungie has basically "George Lucased" their game. If you think about that in the context of what that jag did with Star Wars, you would agree.

Welcome to the Destiny forums, stick to the paths and don't stray onto the Moors! :) To answer some of your questions: firstly, there are actually a huge number of decent people, and decent players here - alas, they do seem to get lost in the 'noise' around here more often than not. Reasons for the poisonous content? It varies: firstly, there have been a number of perceived scandals (cut content, paid for services, weapon imbalances and bugs etc) which people have been hugely (and noisily) critical about. You also have the fact that this is the first ever MMO style FPS game, and for those that come from an MMORPG background who love FPS games, this is great. Alas, there are also a huge amount of ADHD kiddies around, who all demand (again, noisily) that everything is handed to them on a plate, they shouldn't have to 'work' for anything, and their patience doesn't last for more than five minutes at a time, so even thoughthe most simple of tasks is perceived as a tireless 'grind'. Is the game perfect? No. Are some of the concerns valid? Absolutely yes! But how these issues have been communicated has left a lit to be desired. Oh, and of course you also have the traditional 'elites vs noobs' arguments, but those are just par the course for any game :) So in summary, these forums are indeed full of bile, venom and poison - and often, anyone who dares speak about things they enjoy/like in the game, is insulted and attacked - so the nice stuff gets drowned out and the bile rises with people feeding off each other's rage. BUT there are bastions of calm, joy and support for the game, they just take a little effort to find them. My advice? Learn to love your 'mute' button to block the most obnoxious and vociferous complainers and trolls, and soon the forums become a lot less full of Darkness, and a little more palatable. Also, check out groups like Safe Gamers and Destiny Sherpas - a lot of good Guardians reside there, and they tend to populate chat groups and message boards over on their respective sites, thus avoiding the usual toxic spew over here :) Enjoy becoming Legend Guardian; I have, my friends (and wife) have, and so have hundreds of thousands of others. I blame PS and its players for the toxic grasp on our community.

It all started once Crotas end dropped. Other then that the forums during vanilla destiny were actually a decent place to talk about the game. Everyone was alright.

This is a new generation of gamers who have little regard for others online. Who want their demands to be met and complain about the smallest things. Spoiled gamers. It has become worse over the years
