Last Iron Banner - Attn Bungie

Just wanted to give a nod to Bungie on this last iron bannerr, I thought it was much improved from the first new attempt. The grind actually felt worth it this time as the reward system was much more plentiful thus making the whole exp. feel a lot less like a grind. I also have to give a big thumbs up to this new system that breaks up teams that are way to unbalanced in an attempt to give everyone a better chance of getting a win here and there, esp. for those who are running solo and found themselves in a poor team assemble/dynamic.

  • I really enjoyed this ib. Didn't play the last one very much, but found myself playing well past rank 5 for more loot this time around. Much much improved. My only tiff is that the daily bounty 'win with 2500 points' seems a little much. Maybe not for good players, but I'm not a good player, and I was stoked to get 1500 points in a match. Back in control 2500 was no problem with all the bonuses. But not in clash, it's a bit different. I wish they would tone that one down, or make it a apart of a weekly bounty or something.

      Yes, it was great experience. First time to rank 5 this past weekend and the grind seemed worth it, though I was bummed I didn't get the Titan helm.

      I agree. This was probably the best IB yet. It was the most enjoyable. I'm pretty sure I've played in all of them since beta. Matchmaking seemed to be a little better. Rewards were dropping more - I played all of 1 day the last IB and don't recall seeing a single drop. I did see a lag switch or two... not nearly as bad as in the past. It's coming around. Control vs Clash... I could care less. Control is easier because you know where the other team is for the most part. Clash was fun and requires more team work.

    • Agreed I also enjoyed the faster pace and more involved team aspects. Bounties were great and the package random was a nice addition.

    • I went 0-15 in the last iron banner both with a fire team of 4 and by myself. It was mostly due to clash I think. I got a little frustrated and switched to trials and went flawless for the first time. Just saying IB may not be as balanced as we all thought.

    • I agree that it is a move in the right direction. Loot table should include all items Lord Salad has had for sale in previous, current year events. I.e. Class items, boots, sidearms, Nerwins should be possible as a drop this last IB. Even if it is close to the ship drop probability.

    • The issue that I struggled the most with was spawns. They're harder to fix in Clash maybe, hope you'll come up with a solution there.

      Agreed. Good loot drops and light actually mattering were nice improvements. I still prefer Control as the IB gametype though. Less camping.

      the reward system was decent, otherwise I prefer control over clash I do feel like matchmaking was improved. I think I only went up against a full fireteam once

      • I wouldn't mind if they had a new game mode every time IB comes or maybe multiple modes in one week, today it's clash, tomorrow it's mayhem clash, then it's rift. The variety would make it feel every less like a grind

        It sucked that it was Clash and the balancing certainly didn't do shit for me, but at least the package rewards were somewhat worth it. The post-game rewards still sucked for me. I only got one IB item, the chest piece at 284 light... As for the balancing, that really did make it a huge grind for me. I kept consistently getting into games where I was the only one who went positive. I shouldn't have to carry a team to win. I needed one more win on my Titan to hit rank 5 and be done with IB, but instead of getting that in 1 or 2 games it took me 4 or 5 losses before I finally got that last win. It was ridiculous and I was so glad to be done with that shit. As a solo player, matchmaking really sucks.

        • I wasn't planning on participating at all, since I've never cared for Clash and the consensus seemed to be that the drops during the first post-TTK IB were awful. But while at work on Monday, I read that 310 artifacts were dropping for everyone at level 3. Since I don't raid, I figured this might be my best (probably only) shot at a 310 artifact. Started playing IB at about 10:00 p.m. MST on Monday night, and played until IB shut down at 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday. The substantial XP buff in effect on the last day of IB got me to level 3 without much trouble. The drops looked good as well. Level 310+ ghost shells were dropping for somebody every 2-3 games. Kinda made me wish I'd been playing all week. :) Next time for sure.

            • It was perfect the drops were a little edgy but we're on point for everybody and the grind was worth it for the ghost shell helped my friend a lot.

              • After getting 3 chars to R5, i got no weapons to show for it. Only weps i got were the scout rifle and sidearm which i used to infuse other weapons, because both had bad perk rolls lolz, I lol'd so damn hard when i got a double ghost shell drop from a R5 package (at least it was a 317 shell haha). Other than that i don't have actual complaints. I like that bungie made it clash instead of keeping it control. My only suggestion for bungie is to take out the ghost shells and the armor from the R5 packages, that way you are garanteed a weapon. May be a good weapon or a bad weapon, but at least it would be a weapon lol. Only things i wanted from IB was the pulse rifle or scout rifle, sadly the SR had a very bad perk roll on it and didn't get the PR at all. I can only hope for it in the next IB.
