Assassins for sure, but both are very different games. Assassins will be the best for your buck content-wise. Plus if you're a fan of the series you'll love it
Other than that and fallout, I've been playing the crew since the new update. Probably my favorite arcade racer I've ever played in my long race game career, (lol "career")

I've played I've played every single ac up to 3. Right now I'm giving Black Flag another chance and I love it. I don't know about Unity, but I would like to get back into the series. I'm burned out on shooters, with the exception of Star Wars lol.

Fuk unity, like so hard. Hated that game. Gave ubi another shot with syndicate and they delivered ten fold. Its a truly great game. If you're burnt on shooters, don't get battlefront. It's just a hollow mediocre shooter with star wars paint all over it. Literally the only reason most people bought it is because they liked star wars. Once that appeal wears off (within hours) the game is over.

Are the Ac games still tied together or do they have their own separate stories now?
-
Loosely tied, yes. It still has a present day storyline. But the focus is on the two assassins and their adventures through London
-
So I can skip Unity without missing out on any story?
-
Well the only part that ties, the present day shit, has been exclusively cut scenes since unity. So YouTube it and you're good. That's what I did, only had unity for a week. A very disappointing week lol

I bought unity for 9 dollars and I still regret that purchase lol
