It's honestly just for bragging rights, and for the feeling of completion.
Because let's be honest, when the next DLC drops people with Light Level 320 will be getting kicked from raid groups.

Next dlc will require 73 light, as well as character lvl "MxC" or something 320 will be the new 365 and we'll start alllll over again
