Can I get to level 41 without RAID specific gear?
I know the max level is 42, I just got back into destiny last few days and am playing catch up, haven't played since getting everything done in the dark below, so I just wanted to know if I could reach level 41 with say, one exotic armor piece and the rest being legendaries?

The MAX LEVEL CAP is 40. The way to lvl up after that is to get gear with LIGHT. The max light is 320. So overall, it is impossible to get to lvl 41.

With enough RNG, yes. Even with blue armor and a good primary (Buy the Dead Orbit Scout Rifle, NOW!) you can get very close to 300 light level. Good enough for nightfalls (280 light). Just grind the story missions and heroic strikes.

2 RepliesExperience wise 40 is the cap. Your light level is what matters now and the max for that is 320.

You can easily get to 41 without raid specific gear. In fact even with all y1 green items you will be over 41.
