How do I get my first Exotic weapon??
Been grinding, PVP, IB etc and got some good legendarys but no exotic weapons, where is best to get your first. Don't have many friends (awwww ha ha lol) so raids are out?? Or is there an easy way to put together a fire team? Advice would be great Ta

1. Welcome to destiny! 2. The Prison of Elders in the reef is a very easy matchmade activity set at level 28. If you have a treasure key, which is an item that can be obtained by completing bounties from Petra Venj in the reef, you can use that key to open the chest that appears at the end of the Prison of Elders. This chest has a [i]guarantee[/i] to drop an Exotic once per character. So only once. But whichever exotic you get can be obtained from the kiosk in the Hall of Guardians in the tower using 150 Legendary Marks. These marks can be obtained through Daily activities. Good luck!!

Buy some three of coins from xur. Use two before killing a boss in a strike. Or, just buy any of the three exotics xur is selling this week. Or buy an engram (not a legacy) and decrypt it into something. Or use legendary marks to purchase a year two version of a year one exotic you already had. Do a nightfall. There's plenty of easy ways to get exotics.

Buy some 3 of coins and look up a guide on how to use them.

Earn strange coins (crucible produces pretty consistently) and visit Xur. Don't just buy something because it's exotic though. Spend wisely and buy strategically. Or pick up some 3 of Coins, take one and kill a strike boss. You can't control what you get, but that can play to your benefit. Good luck!

Complete an exotic quest, or buy one from Xur.

Best method for 3 of coins is: Do 2 strikes (preferably heroic) at the 3rd strike when you spawn (wait like 5 seconds) pop one. Rinse and repeat Does not work on dust palace

I bought mine from Xur. Have done lots of strikes with 3ofCoins but have yet to see an exotic drop. Did get a 293 Hawksaw though!

One way would be to do the House of Wolves story, and get a year one exotic from your first poe. Then you could buy the year two version if it has one. But three of coins and ranking up gunsmith are your best options.
