Gamers say weapons in Destiny are to OP. I say Bullshit its the maps Bungie makes. This is not a rant post its the truth on the biggest problem to why there are so many nerfs.

The maps are to close cornered. I know this has been brought up before, but it really needs to be looked at because it is a major problem for PvP. Has anyone ever noticed that every single map is built with a center point and they are always tight cornered and small area's? Now i know im not a big fan of PvP and im not good at it so have fun with that if you must :) But know this. Every map is built in a fairly good sized area and on the outside of the maps they are always opened and not much cover. But the center of every single map is tight cornered. Some kind of maze long thin hallways or your just stuck feeling like you're stuck in a box. I've made quite a few maps for PvP in Halo Reach and every time i made a center point as we all should know. That its self is where everyone will be attracted to. Take control for an example. Where are the control area's set? One at each base and one at the center point of the maps or at a ceter point of a map that attracts players. Its easy to make a center point on any map and it dont have to be in the middle of a map either. All you have to do is put one thing that most players want in that area and that becomes your center point. Anyways, getting to why weapons like shotguns are not Op or any weapon for that matter. Bungie sets every map with a tight cornered area and expects PvP gamers to adapt to it but the weapons we have are not ment just for tight cornered areas. Yet, they make every map with a tiny square box that makes it a center point and and expects us to use weapons that are capable of taking out tanks like the cabal strike in tiny maps? Its not the weapons that need nerfing. It is a fact that Bungie makes small maps with a center point that is always tight cornered. Get real Bungie with your excuse of using crucible crybabies for Nurfing weapons. Stop nerfing weapons and make maps that are capable of handling the weapons you created. And stop making maps that are cluster -blam!-s. You know as well as i do even when you had big maps. The maps were built the same way as the little maps. Open on the outside of them maps and clustered in the middle? Chang it up! Add vehicles may be aircraft, teleporters more gravity jumps. There are quite a few things you can do to change up big map to make them more interesting and more fun. P. S Do all of us a faver and yourself. Separate PvP from PvE. Everyone knows PvP is why your game has soooooo many problems.

  • It's a combination of map size, mobility, and weapons. If all maps were big and open like bastion, shotguns wouldn't be as op, but games would be much longer and you'd loose the cod crowd that likes faster games. They Have Three Goals: -Balance the Supers so each one can counter the other -Make it so every weapon type has a counter and an advantage -Make a large diversity of gamemodes and maps that'll appeal to the widely diverse amount of PvP players that play destiny's multiplayer We're already seeing larger, more open maps like widows court, crossroads, and cathedral of dusk.

    • The fact of the matter is Pulses 2 burst kill with no damage drop off. Most used weapon type. Shotguns still ohko from pretty far with little negative effects of using one besides people gunning them down while a shotgunners rushes. Maps don't have anything to do with how powerful weapons are which is the problem .

I love both pve and pvp but I agree, destiny needs larger maps (like bastion). They should mix buildings and open space.

        • These are heavily influenced call of duty three lane maps for the most part, and I'm not quite sure what can be done to fix it. Larger maps is not the way to go. Bad flow, too long to get into engagements, snipers run amock etc. COD ghosts tried larger maps and we all know what happened to that train wreck. The maps are fine, the problem is weapon balancing. They can't seem to get it right. And until they make ALL weapons viable, you will continue to see these types of misleading posts.

          • Bump People complain about shotguns all the time... if the maps weren't so small shotguns wouldn't be used as much

            • It's not Bungie to blame for the small maps. We had big maps like First Light and Bastion that were removed because people didn't like them.

                • I originally was going to dismiss this post as another angry rant, but your title hinted to an intriguing point. And after reading it, I think your right. The reason weapons like Shotguns and The Last Word are OP are because the majority of the maps focus to heavily on close range.

                    • Give us a Weapon like a Needler from Halo, where the needles track you , and then explode. And let the OP post fly.

                        • I've been saying this the whole time. If there were larger maps in the mix a lot of the problems would disappear.

                            • I would really like to see all the nerfing that Bungie has done now for over a year to stop. This is part of the reasons why gamers are fed up with this game. Its a simple solution to make maps that are capable of handling the weapons Bungie has created. The stupid crucible crybabies may not stop, but is will make a major impact on how many nerf post there are on this forum. Plus it might stop so many nerfs that Bungie does for no reason other then useing crucible crybabies as an excuse to do so.
