this is the only weapon in destiny I've never heard anyone complain about.
look at my k/d, I'm not that good, I worked my ass off for that weapon. now they lower base damage but increase precision damage?
news flash bungie, IT ALREADY ONE HIT TO THE HEAD. now I'm gonna have to two shot the enemy to the body EVEN IF THEYVE ALREADY TAKEN DAMAGE. absolute bullshit in every form.
my friends and I actually joked about this gun getting nerfed because it was clear it never would, BUT YOU ACTUALLY DID IT. you are driving you're game so far down in this -blam!-ing pit it's ridiculous.
wow a precision range buff, something it definitely didn't need. this only hurts the weapon in pvp, which might I add is the only thing it's ever going to be used in. the weapon is useless in pve.
if anyone reading this ever actually thought the chaperone was overpowered, you truly are a real scrub lmfao. for the amount of effort to obtain the weapon it should have been LOADS better, and now bungie openly takes a shit on this shit weapon.
what about hand cannons?! accuracy increased. are they openly admitting the last patch made random bullets that should of hit, JUST NOT -blam!-ING HIT. regardless, all legendary hand cannons are still gonna be weak as shit, so what's the goddamn point?!
AND, to top it all off, they are only releasing TWO time gated exotics. this means one class, if not two, will not be getting a new exotic.
bungies incompetence continues to shine in this update. -blam!-ing degenerates ruining their own game. wish year two and taken king never happened. they forgot how to have fun.
we want black hammer, fate bringer, vog, gjally, ice breaker, EVERYTHING BACK.
-blam!- year 2. this game blows now.
peace guardians, can't take this shit anymore.

6 RepliesEdited by Muteight: 11/20/2015 7:56:33 PMDoes nobody actually READ the weapon updates? All I see is people screaming "Hawkmoon didn't need a nerf" or "Chaperone didn't need a nerf". The truth is Bungie didn't think either of those weapons needed a nerf either, UNTIL they attempted to optimize the whole hand cannon and shotgun class and discovered through play-testing that if left unchanged, soon nobody would use anything but Hawkmoon or Chaperone in their respective classes. That's the exact opposite of what they are trying to achieve with these weapon updates. Bungie is attempting to leave both of these weapons as good options, while not making them game-breaking. It remains to be seen if everything works out as they intended, but please reserve all your whining for after we know how bad they messed up. We all know you'll still be here complaining then too.

Bungie wants you to play the game like they want you to ... -blam!- Bungie ..... So who cares if people only use pulse rifles .... Bungie is filled with a bunch of power hungry scrubs

John Weisnewski has failed repeatedly at his job. Who else gets to fail at their job over and over and still keep it? Anyone? If people were organized you'd write a handwritten letter to Mr. Weisnewski. Enough letters reach him and he might calm the f down with the insane and ineffective nerfs he rolls out every few months. 14 months in and no "balance". I played 100 games of IB this week(vacation/appendix burst last saturday, no fun) and i find nothing wrong with shotguns including chaperone. Posting this is pointless though. Writing letters or sending a lot of emails may help

Omg, so you'll have to melee after you shoot it? Wow that sucks.....?
-
Yeah I can see your frustration working to get a weapon only to have them nerf the -blam!- out of it. However, the thing was op in crucible but not everyone had one so it kinda worked.
-
1 ReplyIt happens that a hit to the head does not kill. It has done 197 to a titan once. With 1,75 it will do sth like 300
-
Don't Nerf it. Its fine as is.

Oh my -blam!-ing God do you not see the greatness within this buff? It's nowhere near a nerf. With a 60% precision damage increase you should know that damage falloff on precision shots will be less affected, and extend the weapons range. With a base damage reduction you should know that the weapon is not meant for body shots, it's meant to always be precision, almost regardless the situation. I look forward to it, I would love some more range.
-
It's going to be exactly the same kid. 2 shot body shot , 1 shot headshot.... Get over it because it'll be fine
-
5 RepliesAre you serious or just trolling? You're supposed to have to hit people in the head to reap the benefits of the gun. This change is appropriate.
-
5 RepliesI see no chaperone nerf. just a nerf to those who don't use it in it's intended way.
-
The whole point of the Chaperone is to get headshots. If you don't like doing headshots then it's not the gun for you!
-
too many scrubs were using it to 2 shot to the body or 1 body shot + throwing knife from 2x old felwinters range. they have to nerf the body shot damage so people can learn to AIM FOR THE HEAD. its the same reason they keep getting rid of final round and luck in the chamber. AIM FOR THE HEAD PEOPLE.
-
Lol RIP
-
That gun needed a nerf, it kills from a range like a felwinter with shot package.
-
Thank god. I was sick of the all chaperone trials teams.
-
The chaperone is the only shotgun I use ( I don't use them as often as year 1 and infused my free conspiracy into it) and I have to say this is a buff. The rate of fire mixed with the accuracy you should be hitting headshots/outgunning most people up close. Here's a tip, start aiming for the head now.
-
If you nerf overall damage, precision damage is also decreased. To counter this they buffed the precision because IT IS A PRECISION WEAPON.
-
I am an avid chaperone user and I have to say I'm exited for the adjustments. I wouldn't call it a nerf. Chaperone is already a gun the rewards skilled players and they're magnifying that. Unfortunately I think it will be the only viable shotgun option after December.
-
Get used to it. I think I've finally understood Bungie's 10 year plan. Grind for gear, nerf. Take away, buff, grind again for same gear.
-
No the gun is gonna be like a sniper shotgun 1.1 to 1.75 is a huge difference

1.75 mor head dmg it better one shot sun fools.

4 RepliesI agree. It took way too much effort to get this weapon for them to nerf base damage. Increasing precision damage is dumb. Shotguns are not meant to be headshot weapons. They are meant to obliterate anything in front of them at a close range (as long as you're not aiming at their feet). I've also been using pulse rifles for a year and now that they are really relevant, they are getting nerfed. Lame.
