Say what you will about Destiny's shortcomings, but I want to take a moment to depart from the usual negative rants on this forum. Destiny's troubled development may have left us with something that wasn't quite what we were expecting, but many of us have still put hundreds of hours into the game. Why is this? Sure, the gunplay is fantastic. The story, although difficult to access, is deep, thoughtful, and interesting. Raids provide a level of challenge and require teamwork that is unheard of in most modern shooters. But where Destiny truly shines is in its ability to bring people together. In fact, I like to call it the virtual bar stool. The vast majority (probably about 90%) of my PSN friends list is made up of players I met in Destiny. After countless raids, strikes, and crucible matches, many of these "randoms" developed into my friends, and we keep in touch even outside of the game. Thanks to Destiny, I've made new friends all across the world. These are people that I never would have met otherwise, and people that I'm better off for knowing. So, Bungie. Thank you. Thank you for the hundreds of hours of fun, and thank you for the new friendships. I can only imagine what the future holds for Destiny, and I can't wait to see where the universe takes us. -Br3k
