I may have this wrong, forgive me if I do, but wasn't blink taught to the hunters by warlocks?
If that is the case, shouldn't the ability be tied to void energy? Warlocks released with Voidwalker, a void class having blink, while hunters released with bladedancer, an arc class. This was before hunters had a void class, so perhaps bungie just wanted hunters to have blink and decided to explain it this way, that's fine. But if warlocks have to harness void energy to blink, why is it that hunters learned how to do it by harnessing arc energy?
I get that this is a completely irrelevant point, but in my personal opinion by keeping blink tied to void light it could have added one more layer of story depth and cohesion.
And to those I'm sure will mention Stormcaller having ionic blink, it's not the same as you need your super active, and they could have easily added ionic blink to bladedancer so that it matched the warlock abilities, as they are the ones who taught the ability in the first place.
Thoughts anyone?
Edit: I'm not proposing giving Nightstalker both blink and shadestep, shadestep should be reworked into the bladedancer subclass, and ionic blink should be worked into the bladedancer super to still allow bladedancers quick forward mobility to get close enough to use the super
sorry titans, I can't give you blink bit I can give you a poll option
2 RepliesIn MY opinion blink should be on all Warlock classes.. It should also be removed from Bladedancer and replaced with some arc variant of shadestep.. Just my 2 cents

4 RepliesShade step>Blink

I think it would have been pretty cool to use Blink on a nightstalker... I mean it makes a lot of sense.

Edited by Ronin Tanuki: 11/23/2015 6:43:46 PMWe see blink being used in the wild by both void based enemies and arc based enemies. Fallen Captains appear to have the ability to blink (Arc) and so do Vex minotaurs (Void). Also, as a side note, both of these creatures are quite large and have the ability to blink... Sooo why can't Titans? Oh I know, "Titans are too dumb!" (See Fallen captain; Surely not more intelligent than a Titan).

You know what I think? I dont care haha? On a serious note, I have played with the idea that hunters need a pair of exotic boots to do blink. I remember hearing that hunters learned blink from warlocks, but I always thought of them stealing it or learning from watching. So since thet are not masters, and understand the fundament of what is to rip space like a warlock, they would an item or piece of equipment that does it for them. It would work lore wise maybe, the only problem with that idea is that hunters would bitch about that exotic not getting moved immediately after a new expansion. I dont use bladedancer, so I dont care. Shadestep is superior in my opinion.

9 RepliesI say to add another poll: Warlocks taught blink to hunters. Stormcaller should have blink. (not ionic blink)
-
Should be on both

8 RepliesIt's kinda funny that Bungie retconned their own lore. By the grimoire it says warlocks taught hunters to blink, but in-game when retrieving the stealth drive info from Rasputin's bunker, Cayde says "where do you think hunters learned how to blink?" Inferring it's due to the concepts utilized in stealth drive technology. Oh Bungie...

I was indifferent but reading your explication I get what you're saying. It would make a little more sense, but I think it's like you said, they wanted to give hunters blink but the game didn't ship with them having a void subclass.

1 ReplyIf it was on Nightstalker, it's seriously OP
main a hunter
-
Stormcallers can blink.
-
3 RepliesHow do you enter more than 2 polls on the phone?
-
1 ReplyOn the grimoire it says "tears a void"
-
4 RepliesStorm callers can blink while in storm trance, your argument is invalid
-
3 RepliesI use shade step every day on my main Hunter class and I still find it hard to use It seems to have a delay like the blink of you try and use it too much. I think Titans have no need for a blink, but a evading roll would be alright but not on sun breaker, solar lore has no need for a blink/ evasive roll ... OP AF.

Warlocks move through the void (void walker) but hunters blink by moving very fast (Bladedancer has the most agility)
-
2 RepliesIf anything, I don't understand why us Hunters don't have floating abilities like everyone else. We gotta use our dumb legs to get around like cavemen or something :[ #tooshietroubled
-
Blink on a night stalker would be scary
-
14 RepliesIt belongs on a sunbreaker.
-
2 RepliesI disagree I think blade dancers and stormcallers should have it because it makes more sense due to the lore and sheer color of it to be with arc subclasses
-
2 RepliesI think storm callers should be able to blink non super.
-
9 Replies37% of hunters that voted don't read lore...

3 RepliesThe thing is nightstalker is such a good pve class it would be a shame for it not to have triple jump

Edited by Cankle J: 11/22/2015 6:48:48 AMBlink on a striker would be amazing.

1 ReplyI know Voidwalkers already have blink but I feel like Stormcallers should also have it.

15 RepliesBlink is for fgts. The end.
