I think we can mostly agree that the most popular choice among guardians is pulse rifle and sniper rifle for good reason. There are very effective pulse rifles that are easily obtainable and completing a basic quest gives you a dominant high impact sniper rifle. This line-up is very effective for how crucible is usually played right now which is a lot of mid range gunfights with an equal amount of snipers in their hiding spots watching lanes. To counter this is not to play their game but to be better at your own... Which brings me to my suggested guns to use to counter this or the counter meta if you will hah. The loadout on my Titan or for you lazy people ---Last extremity(vender version. Nothing special) ---Party crasher (nearly perfect drop. Conspiracy theory works to) ---Truth (with rocket boots. It gives you 4 rockets!) A high impact scout rifle is the perfect weapon to counter snipers and is also effective at close to mid range when you land your shots. If you can get the first shot off on a sniper it is sneaky powerful. A 3 shot kill that they are not expecting. How to make it dominant against pulse rifles is about play style. Since everybody is used to using pulse rifles there are a lot of people that challenge and put themselves in bad positions in order to get all 3 shots of a burst off. With a high impact scout you can trade 1 shot for even 2 out of 3 from a pulse all day. Simply play like you would with thorn...dodging shots. Popping in and out. Timing is everything but most players won't know how to handle it. As far as shotties go. I know a lot of people say they are for scrubs. Fair enough. The way they are used by the majority of people they have rightfully earned that tag, but a skilled shotgunner is something you are gonna have to practice to become. You have to pick your spots and you should use your scout about 75% of the time. The shotgun rush is an art. It is not simply about killing 1 player. It's about surprising 1 and outsmarting the other 2 and coming out of the engagement ALIVE. The goal should not be a trade! Anybody who agrees let's hear it!!!
