I personally don't. It limits out freedom in dialogue direction compared to other games, it's kind of confusing, and it spoils immersion a bit.
What do you think?

1 ReplyWhat's annoying is when you read the subtitles quicker than the other person speak and you skip through it. You character says stuff like "right, uh huh, yea, gotcha" and he sounds like a total douchebag just interrupting the npc because they have nothing interesting to say. Would complete the whole thing if your character did the jack off hand motion at the same time.

Edited by Jaraghan: 11/22/2015 2:53:05 AMI'd be fine with it if the dialogue wheel was scrapped and the writing was better.
-
I have more of a problem with the dialogue choices than I do the voice acted performance of them
-
Yes, but 4 options was a mistake, it makes the dialogue too much like Mass Effect

1 ReplySpeaking of which did you try and talk to the mama Deathclaw from the Devil's Due quest? If you return the egg, you can press A (or whatever you have your interact set to) and your character will say a bunch of funny things. It doesn't give you a prompt though.

I think the voice actor himself did a good job, but I feel like the dialogue is just dumbed down a bit and follows this mold of 4 choices for every single conversation (sarcasm, yes,no,question) which makes me feel like most conversations are always similar. In previous fallouts I just felt each conversation was much more unique when you saw all of it written out because the responses were just different for every conversation. Idk that's just my opinion I think silent would have made it a much better game even though it is still amazing.

Should've been Peter Dinklebot

1 ReplyIt's sounds like Nolan North is the male protagonist. Am I right? Too lazy to look it up.
-
I like how it actually makes your character part of the world and not just some voiceless pleb
-
Sounds good. Yeet

I like him sounds great

This game is a blast to play, but they took what little RPG elements were left and slaughtered them in a back alley. It's basically an action adventure now, and that's a bit of a bummer.

3 RepliesYes. Voice = immersion, silence does not. Mass Effect made a fortune with Mark Meer and Jennifer Hale.

1 ReplyI built a generator and that Damn pop up in the upper left corner keeps telling me to build something that requires electricity, so I build a construction light and attach wire, still that thing keeps popping up every 5 seconds... What's that about ?! Second question: some stuff require 1 electricity, and the generator is providing 3 (at least that what it says in the bar top of the screen) but when I want to build something it shows a red 1 electricity sign... If I have 3 why can't I build it??

I was pissed off when I found out there was a VA. I still wish it was optional.
-
8 RepliesIt's aight. Just wish we could pick different accents, I'd have gone with an Irish character just to hear him be a dick to everyone.
-
.......yes No........sarcasm .....*lick OP*
-
Yep, I never was attracted to Fallout because of the dialogue elements. I liked the exploration/questing, not so much the role playing. So personally I don't have a preference to either system. I like both.
-
I like it But it should be optional
-
1 ReplyI don't mind the voice, but I dislike the dialogue options. I don't know if I'm going to use some friendly banter sarcasm or complete jerk sarcasm. You don't know what you're going to say. I saw that PC came up with a mod to show the full set of options, but alas, I'm on PS4.
-
I think you've been watching too many YouTube videos or reviews as that's exactly what some of the critics said. It doesn't ruin anything in my opinion. I like having a voice, immersion? Yeah because a mute having conversations with NPC's is immersive.

Edited by TrAB418: 11/19/2015 5:18:11 PMI think the voice actor nailed it. The different tones he uses for sarcasm or mean responses or nice responses is great. I played a nice but driven character the first play through and it fit perfect. Now I'm playing an evil character and I was worried he would sound too nice, but all the mean responses fit perfect with what I'm going for. Just an asshole full of sarcasm. He did a great job, I was surprised.

Love it
-
While it does kind of mess some stuff up especially for quest mods and stuff in the future but that being said I think it's actually kind of cool. Makes it more interactive and feels like your character is actually there talking, also your not constantly asking questions.
