Are snipers overpowered?
Here's my thoughts on the current meta. What do you guys think about the current meta and the sniper situation? Are the OP or are people just complaining?
Edit: Just to clarify I don't think snipers need to be nerfed. I think hidden hand and litc need to be changed or removed but snipers aside from that are fine.

2 RepliesIn a way. I think they should reduce damage drop-off a little, and decrease the ammo. Maybe like 4 ammo is the max you can have in your magazine and 10 in clip

3 RepliesGuess what's funny, they never got a buff, they haven't changed at all, just a few more guns. Not anymore buffs, no one had a problem with them in year on then! Nerf's came along, some noobs didn't feel like adapting to the thorn or other weapons, they just wanted to simply make the weapons weaker so that they litterly become a potato! Firing a potato! So if your yelling for nerfs. Don't your a noob, don't make guns weaker, rebalance all the guns. Certain weapons made sense, gjallarhorn was making destiny too easy plus people wouldn't do strikes unless others had it. So yeah that made sense, but thorn and TLW didn't need it. Think about it for a while, if you disagree tell me why because snipers do not need whiners arguing about how OP they are, srsly

No just over used. Just like shotguns. You should spawn with 12 special ammo and that is all you get for a match. Problem solved.

Players too skilled with sniper = nerf everything until fusion rifles and sidearms are used.

All they need to do is bring down the aim assist levels. There's nothing truly game breaking (except litc shouldn't be a thing) about them. They take moderate skill to use and make them more skilled by bringing down aim assist

as every other multiplayer in the history of gaming showed: if you're stupid enough to run out in the open all the time, expect to be killed by a sniper - most times with one shot.

And they'll be used even more because shotguns are getting the final blow in december. It's just ridiculous that a shotgun will slower your ads, sprinting, etc. and a sniper don't. They should ALL behave the same. Only sidearms should always have quickdraw and +2 agility as hidden perks. But anyway, the main problem is the amount of secondary ammo per match. People can use their special as a primary ohk weapon. Shouldn't be that way.

4 RepliesHidden hand barely affects snipers, look at planet destinys video on it. Aim assist is just the "stickiness" on a player. All in all, you need skill to snipe, unlike shotguns who require a pull of the trigger from far ranges. If anything, make spawning the without special ammo

Be it wrongful removal of content, nerfs, making things easier for new players, etc. [b][u] I shall post this on every thread that asks for buffs or nerfs or change, to prove my point..... Reply with how many time you have seen it.[/u][/b] -removed fire heads because people felt sad they couldn't complete nightfall -made almost all exotics in year 2 aquireable by doing easy quests. Remove exotic bounties for being too hard. -added 3 of coins so people could get exotics faster -Selling weapon parts and upgrade materials so people don't have to farm for them. -timegating (doesn't really bother me but it really irritates some) -removing/nerfing weapon perks because players get killed by them. Shotguns have already been nerfed 5+ times and kids still aren't happy, fusion rifles are the laughing stock of the crucible now. -nerfing weapons instead of buffing others -players on destiny expecting too much out of bungie. Year 1 players didn't complain about out subclasses for a couple months. After the fusion rifle and auto rifle nerf in October. Players thought "If I complain enough.... It'll happen" so came all weapon nerfs and super nerfs. 1st day of taken king after being killed in the crucible by a sunbreaker. People flocked to the forums crying for nerfs -making old actuvities obsolete (talking about raids and POE) -increasing drop rate of iron banner gear, and nightfall drops. The point of RNG was the more you play the higher of a chance to be rewarded -welfare handouts, Just to give you some idea, i didn't change my playing style since year 1 and had most to all of the year 2 exotics within the first 2 weeks. As opposed to year 1 when it sometimes took you a month to get a specific exotic.
