Seriously, I'm 186cm, and there's this one character, the shortest in the game, Romeo, is like 190cm!!
Jesus Christ, is it something about people in the future being retardedly taller than normal humans? Or do they have growth specials like Mr. Chief and his army of Spartans and Fluffy Grunts?
EDIT: Sorry, I was misinformed. Romeo is not the shortest in the squad, but seriously, 190cm is very tall for consideration!
And I doubt they would measure in gear, or in shoes for that matter.

As I recall most of the cast of ODST are around six feet tall. That height isn't really all that uncommon.
Posted by: black kn1ght ODST's the best of the best marines so it's possible that the fittest and tallest were picked and could have received drugs to stimulate awareness, strength and build.
or maybe they take GROWTH HORMONS!
Posted by: Cheeto666 No offense, Europe, but you guys are kinda short compared to the average American. Our bodies adapted during colonization to the harsh conditions of living here, which made us larger, generally stronger, and more patriotic (hah).
That's not true at all, americans are not that long on average. And living under harsh conditions does not affect your genotype, and it also makes you shorter, not longer. Also the conditions of living wheren't much better or actually worse for 95% of the european population, which is also one of the reasons why a lot of people moved to the usa.

Doesnt Zero G conditions and other planets different gravitational pulls effect bodily growth.

The "generation taller than last" seems to be tapering off. But i don't know if the average of 5'10 is really correct. I am 5'10.5 and i feel short (16 btw)
-
well they are marines so they would eat alot of carbos (if the diets are the same as the present) and their motabolism (spell?) would make them taller?
-
generations of people keep growing taller and taller. in 10,000 years we would be 30 feet tall.
-
=O I'm offended! I was 14 and 190cm...
-
its not realy that bad, im 193cm and I know severial people that are taler than me.

I think it's reasonable that people could have evolved some. Hell, Americans have evolved in half the time. No offense, Europe, but you guys are kinda short compared to the average American. Our bodies adapted during colonization to the harsh conditions of living here, which made us larger, generally stronger, and more patriotic (hah). Now, most of the ODST's aren't from Earth, so it's reasonable that their genetics have adapted to life on a more harsh planet than Earth, making them even larger than people today.
Wait, what? People in the UK are only .4 of an inch shorter on average, and young people (18-24) are actually taller than peope in the US. Only white people in the US are taller, and ven then, not by much. Along with that, people from Belgium and Austria are, on average, 5'10.7". Nearly an inch taller than the average in the US. So bro, you have no idea what you're talking about. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_height#Average_height_around_the_world
I knew this, but back about seventy to eighty years ago, Europeans would have thought it freakish how tall the average American was. It's leveled off a lot since then, but the point is, a group of people can adapt to their surroundings in a few generations, and possibly become larger, stronger human beings, however slightly.
Fair enough. Come to think of it, a lot of accounts dating back to WW2 actually mention Americans being pretty tall. Mind you, none of the Australian accounts mention it! Haha. :P
XD win for Australian! I'm Aussie (American moved to Australia a few years back) and yeah, our soldiers were apparently awesome in the World Wars (even if the british let us down more times than not)

I would go diet of the average American is responsible for the tallness moreso than evolution being kicked into 5th gear by colonisation... I'm not quite sure it happens that fast! I am in no way claiming to be an expert, it just seems unfeasable that tallness is a result of kickin brit butt... Heights of the ODST's? Not sure. Thinking about it, soldiers cops, athletes, etc, all 'fit' people are generally larger of frame than most. Maybe tall people are just conditioned to take action when times get tough!
