TTK definitely hurt Destiny. Way too many changes that went against the wishes of what the community was asking for.

And the "community" is the minority - a point people on these forums seem to ignore. 25 million people averaging 3 hours a day. How many of those post on these forums? A few thousand? Tens of thousands? You'd have to number in the hundreds of thousands to even approach 1%. Destiny is way better now than it was then. Plenty of things still need improvement, however and not all changes have been for the better.

I think the Destiny community globally whether it's chinese, russian,German or french or english etc etc can all agree for the most part that making year 1 weapons obsolete in TTK was a horrible move.

Edited by Ez: 11/11/2015 6:48:48 PMBased on what? I'd offer that the hardcore minority are the only ones truly butthurt by this. I'm sure many don't like it, but it's the nature of the beast, and most people accept that. Any game with this type of business model needs a way to keep generating revenue. That's why mmo style games always make things obsolete (Ultima, Everquest, Dark Age of Camelot, World of Warcraft, etc.). They make new weapons to replace the old favorites. How do you get the new stuff? You buy the $40 DCL. What do I base that on? People vote with their dollars, and they spend billions on these types of games...

I like Destiny. I like the graphics, definitely the music is underrated, and most of all the mechanics. By far the first video game outside of early Ninentdo (mario kart, Tetris) that i have been able to play for hours upon hours and feel entertainment. I loved TDB and i wont forget how excited I was when i got my 1st Gally and when I woke up and saw Xur was selling Icebreaker. Believe me i have enjoyed this game and i never cried for nerfs or buffs, i just rolled with the punches. I'm a Destiny fan and i defended it so fierce and even got more than a few people to buy it and they actually became better players than me (swordbearers, relic holders etc things I never got good at) So I'm not here to say Destiny sucks at all, it doesnt, i was just saying there is alot of people leaving for valid reasons and its hard to argue with them. They make alot of good points about the current state of the game and how the fun has been sucked out of it.

Well, I'll agree with you there are many things that still need to be changed in Destiny, but would disagree TTK hurt destiny. There is a lot more to like than dislike, which has not always been the case. And yes, some people leave (and always will), some return and some don't. However, overall they've gained new players at a significantly higher rate then they have lost. Sure, some have valid reasons for leaving - reasons for THEM. Doesn't mean those reasons apply to everyone. Some bitch because they lost Gjallarhorn and other Y1 weapons, and that's a valid reason for them. I say good riddance, I love Hawksaw and Touch of Malice. Some say the drop raid sucks in the RAID. I tend to agree with them, but it's not a dealbreaker for me. I enjoy DOING the raid, and while I am disappointed in the drops much of the time, playing the raid is still FUN. The game for me is not simply about items. Getting Black Spindle was a frustrating, but fun challenge for me. Collecting Praedyth's ghosts and that storyline was enjoyable for me. I love Trials (even tho I mostly suck at it) and look forward to participating in that every week. Many of the common 'gripes' have validity, but none are enough of a reason for me to leave and not look back. There are too many things I enjoy in this game. Just because someone has a valid gripe doesn't mean it's a valid reason to leave, nor does it apply to anyone other than individual who holds that opinion. The truth is I've seen many people threaten to leave, and some do, some don't, and some stay gone for a little while before coming back.

I would agree with majority of what you said and its ok to enjoy the new weapons, i have most of them and i like them but i definitely dont love them like i did Fatebringer, Gally and Black Hammer. Not even close. And no elemental primary? Make weapons parts hard to get after majority of us spent them ranking up faction? I could go on for days about how many of my old weapons were perfect for my play style and how i had to grind so much to get them and grind for days/weeks just get enough shards to level them up. Anyways sure there is some good things about TTK but its mostly bad. I think majority of us players feel that way.

I also hold guns like Fatebringer and Vision of Confluence in higher regard than the current crop of weapons. Part of that is they were both elemental. Black Hammer was fun, but really it was OP. You're absolutely right regarding weapon parts; I never have any... it's annoying. However they did state they were going to address that (even if was stated in a snarky manner). And while how you feel about it isn't wrong, it doesn't apply to everyone, or even the 'majority' (sales and number of people playing contradict your conclusion). For me, doing King's Fall and Trials is more than enough to keep me busy until the next content drop. I'm sorry you don't enjoy it as much as you would like. Let's hope they keep improving it.
