Depend what you mean by Vanilla. If you mean like the first 2 weeks, yes. The community wasn't as good as the Halo days, but it wasn't the toxic cesspool it became. If you mean the game in general, no. TTK was the game we were promised when we first bought Destiny to begin with. Vanilla Destiny wasn't. Sure year 2 might feel more grindy and repetitive, but that's because 90% of the discovery was already done. It's not that year 2 is worse, it's we're so fed up with the grind thanks to year 1 we have no patience or tolerance for year 2.
