Just found out that the word "soccer" was made by the British and the word "football" was used since the 1400s.

Do more research. A game called football (called this because it was played on foot, not horseback) developed 2 main variants. These two variants split into 2 main sports, one they called rugby union and the other they called soccer, so the game most of the world calls football is actually called soccer.
