Edit: after 4 hours of play (PS4) I've not experienced any hitching apart from one slight judder entering Sanctuary. Had one strange moment coming down some stairs but nothing too bad. Oh, and the subtitles got stick. Certainly very happy that I decided to buy it.
So, initial performance review is in and the news is not great. Frame rate drops aplenty.

I'd be getting it on ps4 so not quite as bad, but still aggravating as hell. Frame rate issues are second only to screen tearing as the technical fault I hate the most.
So, having read the analysis, do you think it would be better to wait for future patches to get the best experience? Or do you feel the issues that are evident are no big deal?
Edit: I caved to the hype and am getting it.
Edit2: after 6 hours no bugs that are too bothersome. Glad I got it. Let's see if things worsen as the save file increases (usually the case with Bethesda)

Dude, in-game you don't notice these small things. I've played for 3 hours now and it was amazing! The only glitch I've seen so far was in the beginning where you make your charachter. My wife was facing the wrong way instead of towards the mirror. Looked quite hilarious.

Sitting at a solid 60 with a gtx 560, 8 gigs of ram, and a hex core processor with medium quality. Might be able to push it harder with a few tweaks.

Performance is fine. Did get a tincy incy bit of frame rate drop at the start, but i think its just the game getting started, fo eg. starting off the load screens take a while, now there near but instant and everythings smooth as a baby

I've put about 6 hours into Fallout and haven't noticed any issues performance wise.
-
2 RepliesYes I would get it on Xbox One if I were you.

4 RepliesI think if you really were a fall out fan you wouldn't be asking this. considering what is shown in that video is common to both fall out 3 and fall out new vegas. If you could stomach it then you can now.

4 RepliesTo everyone saying "Ahhh it's just Bethesda it's okay because it's Bethesda they always work out glitches!" Doesn't excuse the game to be buggy at all....it doesn't, AND IF this game has game breaking glitches where you absolutely 100% have to restart your entire story, you have no room to complain...because it's Bethesda and it's okay.

5 RepliesEdited by Martiis: 11/9/2015 11:26:05 PMHonestly you should just build a budget pc. Digital Foundry's budget rig costs roughly $350 to build with brand new parts; a little shopping around for used components on ebay and craigslist can get you even more performance for the same price point, or simply just drop the price of building a 4th Gen i3+gtx 750ti rig to around or below the $300 mark.

I just think the best part about all of this is that all of us were so hyped for Fallout 4 and acting like it was the return of Christ and now we're all bitching about it a day later. I hate gamers :(

Performance issues are always a big deal. If on either console, I would personally wait until performance is fixed.

Bugs and stuttering in a Bethesda game? LIES!!! ;)

5 RepliesUg this shit makes me mad, these problems didn't show up during testing?
-
This is how Bethesda games work, they will fix it soon like always

9 RepliesEdited by Retro_Spective: 11/9/2015 6:57:33 PMAwful performance on both consoles, a budget PC runs better. I'll be waiting a few months to buy fallout 4 because I know it will piss me off, add to that with bugs/glitches. That stuttering on xbox sounds terrible and would be a major annoyance. The reviewers should be dropping marks for such a poor performance.

4 RepliesI'd wait for now rom what I've heard and what people have been saying on other forums. People have been getting stuck in elevators and have to rollback to an old save or use a map level editor on PC. That's only a small problem in vast of other small/bigger problems. I'll probably wait until early December to see if it's improved or not.
-
Decided to wait. I only play games through once generally, especially big games, so I'd rather wait until I can get a big free experience with, hopefully, fewer performance issues.
-
Decided to wait a while. I only play games through once, especially large games, so I want to wait until most of the bugs and (hopefully) performance issues are fixed

Edited by Lord Headass: 11/9/2015 9:49:23 PMEvery bethesda game has had bugs off the launch, and they will be fixed over time.

Especially hoping to hear from those who have been lucky enough to play it already
