So, I'm a little lost. I have been doing all sorts of research on how to get my light level up higher and so far it has been a super slow process. I've been running strikes and patrols by myself and with other players but it just doesn't seem to be working. Here is a breakdown of what I've tried so far.
100% of the time I have the best gear and highest level light I can equipped.
Patrols - Dreadnaught and Mars. Mostly because of the enemies being higher levels. And the chances of Fallen and Taken spawning in for Zealots. Now when I'm out there trying to farm I'm focusing on headshots which I've found to be pretty easy to achieve. This is also where and how I spend most of my time completing the dailys. This helps a little bit.
Strikes - I'll do the heroic strikes and the regular Vanguard strikes for a few hours all while popping a Three of Coins towards the end where the bosses spawn in. I've gotten a few exotics and also completed a few of the vendor level ups which has gotten me some gear but I'm not getting equipment that is necessarily any better than what I have already.
So basically I'm running into the issue where I'm at 294 light and the drops for engrams I'm getting are almost always around the 265-280 range and it isn't helping me boost my light level since all my gear is now over 290 or just about there. If anyone has any techniques for boosting the light level of a character please feel free to give me some tips and tricks or ways to reform my strategy I'm open to trying new things.
Thanks my fellow Guardians,
Zer00hr

Raid Nightfall Court of Oryx. Walk, don't run there from the spawn. When transitioning from one area to another, it tries to matckmake you into a server that has people already playing. Walking through the transition area gives the game more time to do this.

Court of Oryx drops higher gear and do the raid if you can. We was all 290 or lower on first completion. Also trials drops good gear if you win or just complete the gold tier bounty.

Edited by LuuukeVader: 11/8/2015 6:48:04 PMDon't forget, you can infuse other class armour into your hunter's armor. So if you have an alternate warlock with some high light level armor that you don't need or want, you can throw them to your hunter and infuse them with hunter gear to pull your light up. This helped me level up my titan and hunter fairly quick.

Will you take me flawless?

Edited by Dualstone: 11/8/2015 6:38:33 PMLight level on your gear is all RNG nothing you can do but hope for higher blues to infuse. Only other option would be to try to get a team together for Trials of Osiris or and larger team together to take on Kings Fall raid. Those are the only places you can hope to snag some 300+ gear from.

Just do the raid my whole group was under 295 when we beat oryx the first time
-
Get your exotic sword and then start raiding.
-
Do your quest that reward 300-310 gear then just go into the raid

Heroic strikes and court of oryx sometimes
