Carter: Accepted the task for his team and died for his team to complete it.
Emile: The badass character died after he tried being badass.
Kat: The smart planner girl died after forgetting to re-activate her shields when she put on her helmet.
Jorge: He tried to save his planet but died before the full assault.

And after that, she doesn't have it out at all? As for the elevator, backup systems? Either way, Radiation -blam!- up their shields, which is why they sprinted for the bunker.
