So really why do people hate Veronica "Dare" so Much?
A lot of people don't like Veronica simply for the fact that she is a [i]femme fatale*[/i], and you seem almost intimidated for some reason.. personally, I think she is goddamn awesome just by how she orders Buck, around.. It was pretty cool how somebody in his position was taken down a notch by (litterally) Dare stopping him with her finger, and showing him his place on the mission.
As much as I think Buck is awesome, I really like that dynamic and their previous romatic relationship is going to play out awesome in the story-- I don't think Veronica is going to be "evil" as you call her; just a [i]femme fatale*[/i] getting the job done.
Not to mention she is voiced by [i]Battlestar Galactica[/i]'s [url=http://wallpapers.celebritydesktop.com/models/images/babes/tricia_helfer/tricia_helfer_20060722_011.jpg]Tricia Helfer[/url]- *cat call*!

There wasnt enough character development in the game, I couldnt care less if Romeo died or Buck or anyone else for that matter. Maybe people hate her because ODST used the Halo 3 engine to make facial features. Other than that I enjoyed the game + firefight. This thread is total trollage.

OMG funniest line in the game... Buck is talkin to the Rookie about Veronica. It goes something along the lines of. If your ever gonna fall for a girl.. Make sure shes got balls. HAHA coming from buck it just sounds so weird. And adding to the fact that veronica might be a guy is because she is so -blam!- ugly as a woman. She would look fine if she cut her hair off and pretended to be a guy. thats because she is a guy.

The romantic realtionship between Dare and Buck is just to cliche a script for my liking. Dare was one of the most unexplored characters in the game. She does come off as a rude person. I think a "tough as nails" female character would have been better suited. Also, take out the romance between her and buck. Again, it's too cliche. I'd like to see a balls to the wall female character that makes me not respect her, but fear her. That, to me, would be an awesome thing to watch unfold. Also, in a cutscene it would be sweet to see her compltely own a brute cheif or something. I think it's great to put female protagonists in games, since there is a lack thereof, when compared to their male counterparts. But, I don't truly feel they did thaT justice in this particular game. I hate her cause at the last level on Legendary with the Iron skull on, that -blam!- loves to just bum rush the enemies and then complain to us(who are trying not to die, by sitting back)that she needs help, she was the #1 reason we lost over and over, we had to run over there, other die, or she dies. AHHH, glad its over for me though. :)

She really is just a character stereotype overdone to death and back in films and other media. I hope there will be something interesting to her character besides the boring "tuff grrl in military" -blam!-.

I don't hate Veronica Dare. It's just that something about her speaks of deception, and lies. Why else would Bungie, hint at business of the less kosher sort going on with her and the Superintendent. There's more than meets the eye with Dare and The Supes, but we'll all see for ourselves September 22nd, now won't we? /thread

Speaking of which. Did you know DARE's mission at the end of ODST is revealed to of been to retrieve an Engineer that absorbed the SIs data. They then took the Engineer to one of the Space Elevators and interrogate it.

I don't mind here, she's fine in my opinion. I certainly don't agree wiht people saying "I hope she dies" Also, she has her orders, and she has to do them, no matter who hse has to push around to do so
