Should I get Battlefield 4 or a CoD game?
I'm looking to get a war-based game. Which one should I get? I'm mainly buying it for the PvP.

It depends on what you like. If you like a large battle type game with large skill gaps, then go for battlefield. If you want easy to learn close quarter combat, go for a CoD game.
