Halo 3: ODST Running at 640p Resolution, or 720p This Time Around?

Back in 07 if anyone remembers, there was a small backlash against Bungie since Halo 3 was advertised to run at a 720p native resolution-- but this was false. People counting pixels found out that Halo 3 ran only at a 640p native resolution. Bungie responded saying that they could not of put as much texture detail into single/multiplayer, and maintain a solid FPS without the resolution reduction. Therefore, they chose texture detail over native resolution, and the game now runs at 640p native which is upscaled to 720p/1080i/1080p. This was a fair compromsie, but still a bummer for us eye candy junkies. Is ODST going to be running at 640p native too? Or has bungie found a way to squeeze more FPS out of the Halo 3 engine to get the single player portion of the game running at 720 native this time around?

Halo 3's game case says 1080p, because every Xbox 360 game is upscaled to 1080p now (since a Xbox 360 a while ago). I thought it ran off the same game engine as Halo 3, which you would think means it is 640p still. I remember seeing a video with somebody from Bungie saying they didn't realise they could do so much with the skybox so the sky above New Mombasa looks pretty epic now (not exact words from the Bungie guy of course, but somewhat similar). People saying that it has been upgraded, where is your source so I could please take a look?
O... im not so sure if thats it then i found my information in the linky that i put

 •
Posted by: Omegus Weapon
Posted by: Crazy Jezus How about 1080p?
That's what I was thinking. I always figured stellar titles like Halo, had the maximum resolution support available.
No, the 360 just upreses it. Most games aren't native 1080p. I hear it some times comes down to storage limitations of the DVD and what must be the case for both the PS3 and 360 as neither have to many 1080p titles is that consoles these days have trouble with big ambitious games running at 1080p. In some cases such as Halo 3, the Call of Duty games and GTA IV on the PS3, the games aren't even 720p(although not far from it).

 •
Posted by: petterus according to xbox.com its 1080p
But its not originally 1080p, its upscaled, whatever that means, so it has like bigger pixels or something, or less pixels, so it doesn't look as good if they made it originally 1080p.

 •
Posted by: Spectre Bravo I know it's an updated engine, and the cutscenes look a lot better, especially face textures. It still appears to be gameplay generated, so I think it would probably be a graphical enhancement.
• It still runs at 640p. But I'm pretty sure I heard from people who played the game that the framerate appears to be better. Maybe 40fps? I'd rather have Bungie focus on the framerate than resolution. And btw, 1080p is a waste of resources.
