They will not give Titans anything to compensate for nerfing the super. It's just not gonna happen. Nevermind the fact that Titans have garbage Y2 exotics for Crucible, and the rest of the Sunbreaker class isn't that great. Basically Bungie expects Titans to be played like tanks, but yet they won't give them the tools to thrive with that playstyle. Bungie hates Titans, just look at the class-exclusives guns Titans got.
However, what will happen is that the Nightstalker super will get buffed at some point because it isn't as strong as other supers in Crucible. The fact that the rest of the class is absolutely insane doesn't even matter.

They have garbage options right now but once armaterium, peregrine greaves, and dune marchers are available theyll have more options. As of right now nothing is spectacular.

Inb4 people claiming immolation fists are great for PvP

What they should do with nightstalker is remove it's damage and reduce the delay between the arrow hitting and when it actually tethers. If you were sprinting when hit you can easily make it out of the radius before it activates so it won't affect you, or if you weren't it can usually be destroyed if you attack it before activating in the first place. And they either need to fix and reactivate quiver, or just replace it. I doubt they're going to nerfed the titan anyways though. If any subclass were to get nerfed it'd probably be the storm trance by reducing it's attack range a little.

Yeah, this ^

Edited by RoCCa_ToP_SHoTTa: 11/6/2015 5:13:24 PMSunbreaker class is excellent idk what you scrubs are talking about. Melee that resets on kill or creates a sun spot, any ability kill recharges health (nothing in game compares to this), throw more hammers ( imagine there was a shoot more golden guns perk, you would be screaming nerf in your sleep, excellent jump/skate, super fast, extremely high armor, arguably the best 3-set of grenades, idk what perks you are reading from but we must not be playing the same game.
-
1) Thermal Vent would be a better perk is the melee actually had decent range. I would easily give that up for Throwing Knife, Smoke Bomb, or the Warlock melee range. 2) Cauterize is almost always useless with the exception of HoS. Getting your health back on melee kill is pretty useless unless you are taking on multiple people. And if you're doing that, you probably shouldn't be meleeing people. As for the grenades, that is just as useless. If you are killing people with a grenade, you are usually at a safe distance and likely not in need of getting healthy back. Sure, the perks might look decent on paper but they are pretty terrible in practice. 3) And melee leaving behind a sunspot? One person puts a video out killing 3 people with it and you think that's worthwhile all of a sudden? And what good is resetting the melee upon kill when the melee isn't very good to begin with because you burned a perk on resetting it? I am by no means saying the subclass is unusable outside of the super. What I am saying is that it would be subpar compared to the other subclasses if not for the super. Also, the comparisons to GG is rather asinine given how accurate the shots are and the fact that they are immediate. And like I've said elsewhere, I do think HoS needs to be toned down. I just think it would be stupid to tone the super down without making favourable adjustments elsewhere in the subclass.

I don't agree. The melee has a very long burn after impact when using the reset perk. Not only that, the health regen is a life savor in many situations. At brings me to the grenades - nothing better for a rushing shotgun we than a fusion to the face while skating backwards staying out of ohk range. Incendiary grenades are also one of the best in the game right now after the buff. I guess I just really disagree, I play with my Titan and get so many kills off of the subclass abilities alone. Being able to move around the map so fast with full armor and get health regen on any ability really works we'll from jay I see and experience myself

Edited by Rokkudai: 11/6/2015 1:50:09 PMTitans have the highest damage reduction now if I'm not mistaken, so technically they are tanks. What you and everyone else who says "Sunbreaker is fine" don't seem to understand is that, in an rpg / mmo environment - which is what Destiny is trying to be and not be to an extent - tanks don't out damage everything else as well. They can take ridiculous damage yes, but they trade high damage output to get it. The current sunbreaker trades nothing, which is why it's unbalanced. Y1 bladedancers had the same problem, which is why the armor needed to be brought down -nerfing blink was unnecessary. Before anyone says anything about blink pre nerf, Bladedancers are an offensive/agility class so blink was essential in closing the gaps quickly due to it being a melee based super. The only reason blink was targeted is because of shotguns with insane range and Bungie overreacting - as usual.
-
OP: Says sunbreaker should be nerfed; defends blink. T.T
-
Seeing as both warlocks and hunters use it yeah I defend it. I used Blink predominately in pve and the pvp nerf affected that.
-
"Seeing as titans use sunbreaker, I defend it." See how easy it is to talk through your ass.
-
Considering I have and use all 3 classes I wouldn't exactly say I'm "talking out of my ass" as you chose to put it, but whatever.
-
You're defending one broken thing because you like it, and condemning another. You're cherry picking based on your playstyle.

Titans are only tanks when they play one subclass and are in their supers. The rest of the time they are not much more durable than any other class, certainly not enough to justify their melee range. As far as traditional tanks in RPGs go, let's not even go there because Destiny doesn't have the mechanics or the depth for that conversation to eve be worthwhile. As a Titan, I too think that HoS is overpowered. HoS shouldn't live through sniper headshots or Golden Gun shots. My point is that if they are going to put the super to be inline with other supers, then they should also make changes to the rest of the subclass so that it is inline with other subclasses. As far as Blink goes, it needed to be nerfed. Not because it closed distances with shotguns but because Blink is also very powerful as a defensive tool on top of being an overpowered offensive tool. Whoever thought of putting a teleport in an FPS with PvP needs to be castrated to ensure that person is not capable of reproducing. Arc Blade is just a terrible design. Not only is it a bad super from the perspective of the person using it, it is also an aggravating super to be on the receiving end of. It being a subpar super was fine because the rest of the class was so good. But now with the nerfs to blink and arcbolt, Arc Blade could certainly use a bit of an upgrade. The problem with Bungie is that they overreact when making changes. It seems they just have a problem finding the middle ground and instead make things overpowered or near-useless. I fully understand that balancing is difficult but it simply doesn't justify how Bungie goes about doing things.

Max armor and I get one shotted by spindle in the face right after animation..

Edited by Trev16: 11/6/2015 10:30:55 PMI think the best thing with the titan would be to give it a 1 second (or a bit less) can't take damage rather than regeneration of health. That way you can still kill it but they still have a buff. If you're proficient enough with golden gun you can kill HoS quick enough. All of this "nerf titans because I'm a hunter" garbage is ridiculous. I use all 3 characters and if you're good enough, there is at least one super alternative that can shut down sunbreakers, you just have to be wise about using it rather than dying and crying because the player dying isn't very good. Edit - not having a dig at you, merely expressing state of things.

I agree with 90% of this except the blink stuff. Nerfing blink was one of the best decisions they have made for this game.

Sadly, this is true.
