How can people be so skilled at sniping?
I think I just need to vent, so here it goes. I just played a game of salvage, and two of the guys on the other team were the best snipers I've ever seen. Every time I saw that red glint, before I could even react, I was already dead. It was seriously as if they were using an aim bot. Even if I'm shooting them, it's like they experience no flinch at all. I'm a down right rotten sniper, but it still blows my mind how ridiculously good some people are.
Edit: Wow, this is still up? Like I said, I only posted this to vent.

20 RepliesIt is because all of the snipers have high aim assit that literrally curves the bullet to hit the target. It take 0 skill to use a sniper in this game. As long as the dot is near the head, 9 times out of ten you will hit the head. Use 1000 yard stare and you will see it is a newb friendly sniper that takes 0 skill. Last year snipers werent a problem and not everyone sniped. NOW everyone is suddenly a master sniper with these nee guns and it is a joke from lastyear. Huuuuge difference now that its just laughable

16 RepliesPersonally I think a lot of it has to do with lag. I'm not an amazing sniper either, but at one point in my "Halo career" I was one of those people who could no-scope on command pretty reliably. And at least in Halo if you get shot while hard scoped it automatically kicked you out of the zoom (unless you had that 1 perk in halo 4) This game though... the aim assist is through the roof, and people lag like crazy. I know any time I get shot while scoping I'm screwed, my reticle jumps way off target and never recovers yet other people seemingly have no trouble at all and I attribute it to lag. Probably the same reason I can consistently (which is depressing) hit people at very close range with a high impact shotgun and not get a kill (sometimes it won't even break their shields or register a hit at all). All of this while running a constant 30+ mbps down/5+ up fiber optic connection. tl;dr the PvP in this game is broken and I doubt Bungie will ever fix it.

It does go the other way around too you can hit someone clean between the eyes yet they still manage to keep shooting you, happened a few times to me tonight.

They're not. Hardscoping at where an enemies head will be. The head glitch thing. And double body tapping All with high aim assist snipers are what constitute as "skilled"

They either cheat or get lucky...some are good but the sniping in this game is beyond broken. There's no reason I should get four bursts with red death into someone and they just headshot me like they aren't being touched...its bullshit

Turn your sensitivity to ten Try to use shout rifles in pve and get headshots After you get pretty good at that drop your sensitivity and use your sniper in pvp My friend did it and now he's elite

atleast you get the red light as a warning i played against some people and they wouldn't even look down sights and get a one shot kill

playing too much, play everyday all day jk just gotta practice, use op snipers till you can't miss, then move on to harder to use snipers, after a while you can land most of your shots

1 ReplyAfter playing a lot of SWAT on halo 5, I've come to realize having a radar makes sniping a lot easier in crucible. When you've got a little time to prepare and know the general direction your enemy is in, it's not hard to point your gun in that direction and wait till someone walks into your crosshairs. When playing SWAT, you've literally got a split second to react to the threat and put them down. There's no radar, as soon as you hear them or see them on your screen, you gotta aim and shoot, and hope the other guy didn't do it quicker than you. I'll admit, when doing trials before TTK, going flawless was easy on maps like widows court and the shrine because all you had to do was hard scope when someone pops up on your radar and wait till they foolishly run straight into your sights, not really much skill involved, just reflexes.
