I've been sniped out of HoS from black spindle at full health and Max armor

You would've had to have been previously wounded. Black Spindle, Black Hammer, and Efrideet's Spear have the highest impact for snipers in the game. 452 to the average guardian's head. Kills every other super. Does about 198 to a HoS. If you were shot or damaged by something else then it kills. But if you were at health a Black Spindle could not kill a HoS with 1 headshot.

I was told that a Titan with a max armor build had 200 HP, which at a 55% damage reduction means it would require 445 HP worth of damage to kill, so a sniper headshot at 452 should be sufficient. Furthermore, the numbers you cite, 452 and 198, suggest damage reduction slightly over 55%. How sure are you of your numbers? Or perhaps you have heard a different number for HP or damage resistance? Not too many people here bother to cite the numbers, so I'd like to take this opportunity to try and suss things out.

I've seen clips of a Black Spindle hit a headshot on a HoS and it survived. May have been from a long range that made damage falloff survive. But at close range a 1000 Yard Stare cannot headshot a HoS, but it can every other super in the game.
-
Mathematically, that would mean either the Titan has more HP than I thought, the sniper deals less damage than you thought, or damage resistance from HoS is effectively higher (for example, due to rounding in some calculation) than either of us thought. Apparently, more research is necessary.

It isnt the snipers ive seen the same numbers

Edited by Akira: 11/6/2015 3:02:42 AMA HoS can survive a 1000 Yard Stare headshot at close range. Normally does 417. I've seen a Black Hammer, which has the same impact as Black Spindle, hit a headshot on a HoS at close range, and the HoS survived. Normally does 452. It may need more studying.

That number makes much more sense. For comparison, Golden Gun typically deals around 425 damage in Crucible, which falls short of the 445 damage necessary to kill a max armored Breaker in super mode. Again, that is based on 200 HP and 55% damage reduction.

Are you adding in the damage buff to gg it deals more bow but still cant one hit them
-
If you are referring to the damage buff in the 2.0 patch, the answer is yes. The number I cited is post 2.0. If you are referring to something else, I'll need you to elaborate.
