This will go unnoticed. Bungie will likely never read this. Even if one of the staff members does happen upon this post, they will surely refuse to respond to it; for there is no reasonable justification for this current problem.
King's Fall raid drops: an obvious lack of respect towards the player base.
RNG has been, and will always be, a part of Destiny. Those of us that have stayed have come to understand and respect this aspect of the game. This system builds up hope until the rewards finally reveal themselves on screen, leaving us in joy or dismay. We crave and hold on to that hope, and we continue to fight until our very last goals are met.
But like anything else, this system has its limits.
King's Fall raid loot drops do not lead the community down the same road of hope as year one Nightfalls did. As Vault of Glass did. As Crota's End did.
King's Fall raid loot is not a challenge. It is not a challenge which can be overcome by the skill and effort offered up by the Guardians who seek such rewards. It is not a challenge that brings about a sense of accomplishment.
It is a wall.
King's Fall raid loot is a wall which Bungie has set in place to keep us climbing. Climbing towards a goal which currently has no further meaning than to say it's been climbed. Climbing which only continues to get harder, or more appropriately, luckier, the further we climb.
There is no system set in place to read our current rewards.
King's Fall does not care at which light level we currently stand. It does not care that we've climbed over that mini boss at light level 315 - it will still roll the dice to decide whether or not the loot drop we receive, if any, is above or below our current standing.
Yet we're expected to continue to climb; climb a wall which has no current meaning.
There is no reasonable justification for this current problem. King's Fall raid loot drops are about one thing and one thing only - to prolong our playtime.
Bungie needs to address this issue. For the respect of their player base, for the future of their game, this loot system needs to be fixed.

4 RepliesYeah, it's getting old quick, It's harder content for sure, which is fun and great, but as friend list drops, my ability to even raid dwindles, and there are still many holes in my raid gear and weapon loadouts, and then to finally get it and hard mode drops a 300 and im at 311 is laughable. It isn't even infusion material. We grind for blues or legendary between 295 and 300, as they are few and far between. so most people have the (non raid guns /armor) gear they use sitting around 297 - so anything under 310 is pointless.
