Yeah, it's getting old quick, It's harder content for sure, which is fun and great, but as friend list drops, my ability to even raid dwindles, and there are still many holes in my raid gear and weapon loadouts, and then to finally get it and hard mode drops a 300 and im at 311 is laughable. It isn't even infusion material.
We grind for blues or legendary between 295 and 300, as they are few and far between. so most people have the (non raid guns /armor) gear they use sitting around 297 - so anything under 310 is pointless.

The raid itself is great, I agree. No problems there, and credit where credit is due to Bungie on that front. But the light level problem is too real, and for no legitimate reason.

I like this light system, as long as there is a consistent chanse of drops being above you night level. I think legendary/exotic should have a high chance of being above your light level

If drops from the raid took into account your current light level, the raid system would be much better. Say your first time through, you get 311 boots and 314 gauntlets. Your second time through, when getting lucky enough to receive boots or gauntlets again, they should be minimally 312 and 315.
