Spent 3 hours trying to run "no knight" strategy last night

With 3 different teams, never got it done. The night before, ran the "normal" strategy and got it done in 3-4 tries. The no knight strat adds unneeded variables to a fight that already needs to be run all but flawlessly. If you're over 310 light and still run no knight strat, you must be complete garbage at this game and should just quit. Edit: so I don't have to keep repeating myself, if it takes you 15-20 attempts to finally kill Oryx, you're not good, you just got lucky, so yes, you're still garbage Edit: to all the guys questioning why I wasn't able to beat it with this strat. How is 1 person supposed to make up for the lack of skill of 5 other people? Do you guys even think before you comment? Final edit: thx for all the comments guys, good and bad, you've kept me somewhat entertained during a long boring day at work. I'm done, I won't be responding anymore, but feel free to continue the discussion amongst yourselves :)

  • No Knight strat requires you to only do what you are told. There isn't much else involved. I can coach a no Knight strat up in 5 minutes tops and as long as you can follow directions and count to 4 then it's gonna be really easy. I find most people can't stay alive even when they don't have to shoot anything, why would I ever ask those same people to kill an ogre and a knight? Let me be clear, I can run any position throughout the raid and not die once, I can solo any side at warpriest, I can take gaze or do dps golgoroth, I can run relic platforms or whatever you need me to do... BUT, putting a team together that can do these things is ridiculously hard

    • It's true that you still have to run it flawlessly but the no knight strat makes everything safer

    • Exactly, too many unneeded things can happen, especially for relic holder...do people really struggle that much putting 2 sniper precision shots on the large head of a knight that they have to use a completely different strategy to try to make up for their lack of skill?

Funny , you spent 3 hours trying to do the easiest thing in the game and everyone else is a scrub. Both ways are very easy , if you can't do both then I'm sorry you suck. And by the way the no knight strategy can be four manned. Can't do that the normal way. I actually like the normal way , it's just harder with randoms. The no knight way has a lot of room for error. Oh and if your runner is dying, get a new one. That is the easiest job in any of the raids

          • If you failed the no knight strategy, it's because you did it wrong, or the 2 on the daughters platform were terrible. Either way, your logic is terribly flawed. Everyone that can't get it within 15 kills doing the no knight is garbage. Yet you went through 3 raid teams for 3 hours and still didn't have a kill. What, exactly, does that say about yourself? Perhaps you were carried the night before during your normal run. That seems a more logical explanation. GG though. And the no knight strat does not add unneeded variables. It actually rids you of 2-3. #1 - Ignore yellow shield knight. #2 - ignore red knights #3 - Ignore every add in the entire fight #4 - Orbs are dropped in a more manageable position. If someone dies, 1 person can more often than not detonate 2 orbs. We had to 5 man 80% of the fight yesterday and it was still easy. It negates as many of the mechanics possible without going so far as to wipe and have to warlock res each phase. You just did it wrong and fail harder than anyone here. Don't come here saying everyone who does the no knight strategy is garbage when you can't do it that way.

            • Did it with the no knight strat on my first try with a LFG site team last night. The smoothest thing ever. Highest was a 314, lowest was 309.

Oryx Hard requires no new strategy. All you have to do is kill a RED BAR KNIGHT. No extra strat should be needed.

              • I do both strategies and both can be finished in the same amount of tries. It just depends on your team. ... If it took you 3 hours then your team sucked and you are garbage for not guiding them to the "easier" normal way.

Simple. With knight, more individual work is needed, less team orientated No knight, less individual work, but requires team coordination Pick your strategy depending on how you feel about your team

Such as you mess up the plates or you don't kill your ogre in time or the knight.

I spent 3 hours trying the "carry newbies who have never even BEEN in Kings Fall at all through Hard Mode" strat. It went better than expected.

Not killing their own ogres and especially their knights. I can hold my own in the raid and then even cleanup after people and pick up their vast amount of slack but I can't do it for 5 other people at the same time. Both strategies are great to be honest tho. Just depends on the team that you encounter and play with. That being said you need to do what's best for the team you are playing with. If they can't do the no knights strategy then maybe the regular way will suffice if not then keep trying.
