Strangest thing it was by a 30-something noob man child(said he only had the game for a couple weeks), and another man-child with a speech impediment. It shook me up a little, all the verbal and mental assaults brought my game down. I'm usually a nice a guy on-line so when someone is being rude to me I usually just laugh and say haha yea that's funny. It's ironic though in real life and face to face no way in hell would these guy behave the way they did to me. Towards the end I finally had a breaking point and spoke my mind, the guy who had the game for a couple weeks apologized and ceased. However the speech impediment, "5-year old" continued to be immature. The group disbanded I was able to find another group and easily beat Oryx, big difference in the successful group, people were actually being helpful, no one was new to beating Oryx. Overall a better friendlier atmosphere, devoid of narcissists and assholes. Also I'm no push over either I've completed the raid on all 3 characters since launch of hard mode, and have always been respected and courteous.
So, I guess my biggest lesson I've learned from playing with people, is that shit talking, getting angry, or any form of toxicity is very harmful to the success and morale for a team. Elitism and Narcissism is the biggest indicator and danger sign to look out for in a player when recruiting a fire team. When it's just one or two people messing up they can learn by taking a break and communicating. However with narcissistic asshole its like talking to a brick wall with a bad attitude bring everyone down. Sorry for the rant but this has been lingering in my mind.
*This post was inspired by a powerful episode of The Walking Dead recent episode involving Peace and Aikido.
*For those "tough guys" My main point here is this has been a learning growing experience for me to be more helpful player as opposed to putting people down without contributing to the success of a team.
*Another thing to take from this post is that, when someone dies in a Raid it may not be their fault that they're dying. There is a million reason that could trigger this such someone tethering the shade at the wrong time next person that gets put in will be slammed. Ogres aren't being aggro 'd efficiently thus are loose cannons killing people on platforms, or the relic runner being targeted. Lack of communication where as someone the last to meet up somewhere. All these little things can be addressed and fixed instead of rage blaming and being rude.
