Omg my dog just ate a bottle of eye drops...

What should I do? The bottle looks (well, looked) like this, but now the bottle is all chewed up and there is no more liquid inside. Should I take her to the vet?!?

 • She'll be fine, as others have said there's no reason to expect that anything dangerous was in the drops. Dream's right in that you should call the vet tomorrow to be certain, but don't sweat it. There wasn't enough quantity in the bottle to be an issue anyway.

 •
Posted by: Dream053 Your dog should be fine, then. Over-the-counter medicines like that are symptom relievers which have relatively little if any "hazardous" materials, especially since it is an eye drop. Humans and dogs are very different and share different tolerances, but consider this: Our ocular cavity, nasal passage, and our throats are all connected, which is why you might sometimes get a bad taste in your mouth after putting some eye drops in your eye. It isn't necessarily unsafe for us to consume small portions of such substances (since it will naturally happen regardless), so don't feel like you're dog was just doused in rat poison or something. Again, to be safe, call the vet's office in the morning and simply explain the situation to see what they say.
Ok thanks! I will upload a pic of her 4 u to see :) rofl dog [Edited on 08.15.2009 3:20 AM PDT]

Or is that just some brand for irritated eyes? If it's an actual medicine, then what is the name of the medicine specifically? There is no such thing as an over-the-counter drug for conjunctivitis. If it's an actual medicine, call a vet tomorrow and simply explain the situation. If they think you should bring her in, do so. If it's just some irritation relief drops, your dog will be fine.
Yeah it's pink eye relief

 • I looked up the ingredients in pink eye relief drops, from what I can tell none of them are deadly.

Unless it's infected, blood is pretty harmless.

 • Once this kid back in high school put a few drops of eye drops in this kid's drink and the guy got really really sick, I would take her to the vet ASAP.

 • Are the eye drops a medicine? Or are they just moisturizing eye drops? If it's just normal moisturizing eye drops, your dog should be fine.

 • If she chewed it up and its small, it might just pass through. I would take her to a vet just as a precaution though.
